That is just lovely, Julie. More lovely because of the forward planning and organisation it required - something the blokes in our lives aren't always great at!
Many, many brownie points for that one, methinks. :-D
One day down, four to go, our before holiday starts. I can do this.... ggg

Happy Birthday Julie!!!
And thank you everyone for my birthday wishes. :-) I had Mum on the phone today, worrying that we'd stayed in and DH had cooked spaghetti bolognese because we were broke. No, Mum, we stayed in and DH cooked because I really wanted to stay in with DH cooking.... ggg Not broke.
Much. ;-)
Oh, I know what you mean about over qualified, Joyce! So frustrating - I think DH gets that sometimes, and you want to say, "no, I really do want this job..." Sigh. Fingers crossed for you!
Frankly, Michelle, I love the erotic angel inspirational idea.... may have to have delicious dreams tonight... ;-)
YOU DO NOT SUCK, Trish!
I booked my flights for San Francisco today. *wiggle* I tell you, booking flights is very complicated. How should I know which airport I want.... go check hotel site.... go check map... go check transport links... go check airport codes..... yeesh. Anyway. Sorted, I think.
I've been very busy today, what with that and all the other bits of writing business I did. I've worked, almost solid, from 8am to 10pm.
That all sounds very worthy, doesn't it?
Only I have emphatically NOT managed to do anything of significance for the MA assignment I was supposed to be starting. Which was the ONLY thing I was supposed to be doing today.
Gah. Procrastination sucks...

You go ahead and cry all you want to, Mary Beth. It's a big deal, and it's only a product of how much you love your dd..... :-)
I am replete with veggie curry - potato, mushroom, sweet potato and green pepper curry with Dad's recipe balti sauce, from scratch.
Mmmmmmmmm.
Mind you, Dad's recipe calls for four fresh chillies, I put in two, and we STILL sniffed our way through it. Can you imagine if I'd gone full strength?

After a while away, I couldn't find my way here - kept ending up in archives!
Now I've found you. :-)
Lori, they definitely should have included your boy's class. They'd better reprint! Inclusion starts there....
Not much up with me, really. Still enjoying new job (particularly enjoying reminding people that what they're doing isn't just about politics, or buildings, or budgets or policies, but about people's lives.... *rubs hands in gleeful trouble making mode*) I corrected my boss's boss in the middle of an important meeting last night, but he told me I was right to do so afterwards, sot hat was alright then... *gibber*
We had the in-laws up last weekend. Really good to see them (DH doesn't see his family nearly often enough) but it was rather hard work.
DH and I are off to Scotland again soon - to the place I retreated to autumn last year. Where I did all the walking and writing and healthy eating. We're going on the 19th and can't wait.
I also can't wait to see Julie, who should be coming up soon with her boy!
Chez Scamans is busy, but it's meant to be. Sometimes I have to be reminded to overlook it's dillapidated-ness and remember how welcoming people find it. It's a home that wants people in it.

Thank you for all your shoe-related envy and support... I'm a recovering boring-shoe-buyer, Trish, so I have to build up a lot of nerve to buy anything that's not extremely sensible.... ;-)
Happy Birthday Mary Beth! Hope you have a lovely day, and the winds die down for you and for everyone!
Must rush...
Oh, wait, JOYCE, and everyone - if you ever lose files like that, take these steps:-
1) if possible, use another computer. Don't turn the first one off or do anything else to it.
2) Google free file recovery utility or program
3) Find one that looks reputable, check if there are any good reviews, download it, follow the instructions and run it on the first computer
I had the same thing happen, Joyce - with some pictures of my Dad from our family holiday before he died. I can't remember which utility I downloaded, but it restored everything without fuss.
There's always a way....

Okay, makin' a mess of the html, there, but it still works, so I'm not going to touch it in case I make it worse....

You're all an evil influence. But they are very hot pink shoes (you can take or leave the comma between hot and pink. They are both very hot and very pink.) You can see them <a href="http://www.brantano.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductListDisplay?storeId=10002&catalogId=10002&langId=-13&type=3&categoryId=13023&styleId=13053&substyleId=13170&catgroupbId=&size=06&orderBy=brand&orderBy=brand&start=89&pages=25&productId=1792208" target="_Blank">here</a>. I hope.
I remember the red boots, Michelle! I still have them - they're worn out and broken, but I can't throw them away.... ;-)
<b> Happy Birthday Cearha!!!</b> Hope it's a good 'un.
I tried bookmarking that page, Shazzikins, but it keeps sending me to my 'AnnaofCumberland' page instead.

Glad Moo is back, Dee-Bee! Continuing good wishes to him and to you... you're looking after yourself, right?
Michelle is always generous, Angel - it's one of the first things I noticed about her. The abosolute first was that she knew an awful lot about writing... ;-)
Bad luck, Cearha. :-( Here's wishing a good alternative to pop up soon...
I went shoe shopping today. No matter how hard I try, I simply don't think my shoe collection is either a) girly enough or b) big enough for a self-respecting woman. I don't think it even qualifies as a collection... today I added a flirty pair of dark silver party sandals, and a more sensible, but very cute, pair of brown heels. Both in the sale.
But I still can't find a pair of shoes I want to wear to the Awards lunch where Julie will be biting her fingernails. It's hard, because it's a fairly posh do, but it's a daytime do. Gorgeous daywear shoes are hard to come by...
Was tempted by a pair of hot pink patents with a black bow and four inch heels, but decided that's the kind of shoe I need to work up to... I can't make the jump from sensible to slutty in one pair....
Although it's a jump I want to make....

Which is about all Dad could remember of his schoolboy French, and probably spelled wrong... YAY about the French books, Michelle!
*Dancing round room* I finished my first edits! YAAAAAY!
Okay, so it was 1am, and I'm knackered, but still, they're done, and four days ahead of schedule.
I have NO idea if I've done them right....
