Way too funny about the lock and the bill! Brilliant though!

Hope everyone has a good weekend.  Gonna be in the low 80's in Ohio today.

After a totally crappy day at work I needed a laugh.  Not so funny for you I'm sure Tasha - with an emergency vehicle in bed, but thanks for the giggle.

Ellen - I would have planted the flower right there too.  But I would comment on the beauty of it every time my sister came over. Innocent

Oh- was in Target tonight, making my way to the exit and the lights go OUT.  The place got eerily silent.  I headed towards the light (coming thru the doors) and made it to the registers.  One register was still working since the generator was helping it.  But it was creepy.  Halloween coming early?

The caulking is done!  I tried to scrape out the old, but the front of my house is stone so my caulking-remover-thingy didn't quite work in the grooves.  I did what I could and got bit by mosquitos in the process!  Good thing I had pants on. One little bugger went up my sleeve and bit me.  I did find a smaller step ladder that fit perfectly between the hedge and the house at Lowe's.  I also bought a rubber mallet.  Never know when you need to hit something.

    My Cubbies lost.  Boo Hoo.

    ((waving)) to everyone Smile

Find a step ladder that is tall enough, but not too wide to fit between a hedge and the house so I can caulk above the picture window in my living room.  I did this last year, but I couldn't quite reach to see what I was doing and I ended up using my finger to apply the caulk.  And of course the ladder has to fit in my car. Then there's laundry (if Kay's creepy caller called me I could tell him none because they're all in the wash!)  And I need to go to the grocery store to pick up a couple items - and I hope I don't see the guy from last week!  Tonight I will be watching baseball.  Go Cubs!

And since I had 99 posts to browse through I can only say hi to everyone and wish everyone a Happy Weekend!

    This thread is awesome!

Happy Birthday a day early to Kim!

    Happy Monday eve!

Wonder how Ellen made out in jury duty.

Hopefully for the last time this season.  The grass is a couple inches taller in some parts than others so I am going to mow today to even it up.  And it's a good way to get rid of the leaves - run them over with the mower!  I do hope the sun comes out though.  A bit cloudy and cool.  But it's early yet.  Not quite 10.

Holly - I have decided no zing, no call.  And I kept wondering - how many business cards did he hand out that day?  Did he walk around the store with only oatmeal creme pies in his cart checking out the left hand on every female?  When he ran out of cards, did he park the cart and leave?

The wine event sounded cool, I must admit.  Enjoy your day today!

Linda - he wasn't too bad, but I didn't feel no zing either.  I believe in the 'zing' when you first meet someone.  I had it with my ex.  When I rented my townhouse and met the new owner, I immediately knew he liked me way too much.  I talked to him occasionally, thinking why not see what could happen, but then the more I heard, the less I liked him!  I wasn't freaked out by the guy in the store, I found myself laughing as I went down each aisle that it actually happened.  Some people try to tell me that just because the 'zing' happens in a romance it doesn't happen it real life.  Well it does IMHO.  Plus - your story about the guy with the milk and the old lady - laugh out loud funny.

This is the line a man said to me in the grocery store today.  We've all heard the best place to pick up someone is in the grocery store.  I thought I heard it was in the produce section, but it happened to me in the soup aisle.  What I've learned about the attempted picker - he asked if I went to church, told me he recently took a buy out from Ford so now he does visitations for a local church (hands me business card), stops by his Mom's every morning to drop off an egg biscuit to go with her oatmeal creme pie and applesauce (he made a point to let me know he does not live with her), he showed me the debit card, provided by the church, he uses to get paid for gas for traveling to visit people (a way to show me it's true and not something he made up like the business card could have been).  He asked if I was married and then nodded towards my ring finger (bare) and said he thought I was single.  And he said "You're a very private person aren't you?"  Which I am, so I'm not sure if it is something he picked up on naturally or just figured since I wasn't spouting my personal life to him.  As he's getting ready to walk away he asks my name, shakes my hand, and says if I would like to have lunch sometime to give him a call.  I continue shopping - thankful to myself that I make lists because at this point I have no idea what I went there for.  I find the whole situation hilarious because a) it's never happened to me before, and b) I had bed-head - one side of my hair is stick straight and the other side flips out at the bottom.  So now what am I supposed to do?  Tell all my friends, have a good laugh, and forget about it?  Or maybe in a few days, give the man a call and say "Hi, it's Marcie.  We met in the soup aisle of Kroger's the other day."

I did this as a kid and I still do it today!  I don't understand how people choose not to read.  One girl at work stays at work looonnngg after her time is up and I asked her once what she does when she gets home.  She didn't really say and I asked her if she ever picks up a book.  And she said NO!   ((gasp))

Deb - the 1996 Harlequin Romance I found is Temporary Texan by Heather Allison (who is actually Heather MacAllister).

We had Extreme Makeover redo a house in a town about 10 minutes away this past year.   You had to park somewhere else and take a shuttle.  I never went, but I heard Ty wasn't there much.

Congrats on going for the Masters Linda!

I find the more I read books about writing, the less I write and the more I read those books.  Sure, I've gotten invaluable information, but sometimes I get carried away and forget the reason why I bought the book.

Good to luck to Jeannie - who is probably already off and running.  I think about running, think how firm my thighs would be, but then I never do it.  I like walking around the pond at work.  Two laps, maybe 3, in the morning, and 2 in the afternoon.  I'd do more, but I do the laps during my breaks and breaks don't last forever.  Darn.

I would give a shout out by name to everyone, but I don't want to miss a single one of you, so I'll group you all together with a big Hello!

Every year at my work we have United Way.  You know the company soliciting money to go to specific agencies.  Anyway, each department has skits, raffle baskets, food, and some have books for sale.  Today I found a 1996 Harlequin Romance Surprised.  It was in decent shape, yellowing pages, but all intact.  So I bought it.  I'm sure I'll read it eventually.  I'm still surprised I found it.  1996!

The crunching leaves - I checked the next morning.  It was an animal.

Ellen - I agree on being funny and writing funny.  I've been told I can be funny, but I can't write it to save my butt.

I liked reading the posts about knowing/finding your strengths.  Good tutorials.

Tomorrow is Friday.  Jean day at work.  I have to mow grass this weekend - it's looking raggedy.  That should be the last time til next Spring.  Plus, I need to caulk above a window before winter.  Of course, my step ladder won't fit between the house and the enormous hedge and a project ladder I have isn't tall enough.  I used it before and had to stand on tippy-toes and still stretch.  I am so not doing that again.

Have a good evening and a Fabulous Friday.

are really hard when you live so very far away.  But then again, sometimes it's a good thing.  My oldest niece left a frantic message tonight.  Seems my youngest niece called her frantic over something her mother (my sister) did.  If it was so horrific (like an attempt at a major butt kicking) why call me and not the cops?  If my sister is such a horrible individual, why does my youngest niece choose to live with her? (she could live with her Dad if she wanted)  So, what did I do?  Called my ex-BIL.  And did I get enlightened.  Seems some of my relatives are major manipulators and it is possible the truth is being distorted to suit each person's needs.  Huh.  Just so you all know - there really are two sides to every story.  And yet I'm still confused.

OMG - as I'm typing this I hear leaves being scrunched and crunched underneath an open window (the window is high up).  I'm frozen in my chair afraid to go look out another window to see what's out there.  Nothing went BOO! and I know no one can see in, but holy cow that was spooky.  Probably was a squirrel.  Or a cat using my yard as a litter box.

Yes Ellen - we shall have food when we meet!

Oh good news!  My friend's husband fixed my siding today!!  Yippee!  My house is happy.

    ((Susan)) on your MIL.

    Carrie - read your "moment".

    Hello (and goodnight) to all!
