You got me stumped on that one, Donna.
I can't believe growing up in Las Vegas I never saw Neil Diamond. I wonder if Duran Duran is playing Vegas? I would love to go with some of my sisters. (I have four.) I did see Chicago and Barry Manilow at Caesar's Palace. My graduation present was tickets to Rick Springfield- the opening act was Flock of Seagulls!
I now feel incredibly dated.

I just watched Music & Lyrics the other night and was surprised at Hugh Grant's singing voice. I like the duet between him and Drew Barrymore better than the one at the end of the movie. Since I was in love with Duran Duran a long time ago I loved the cheesy music video in the movie.

I don't really care to see my bum on a barstool but I will join in. I don't drink lager or ale but I can have a coke. Warm of course, with no ice, since we're in a pub.

Just keep plugging along. I think it is wonderful that Harlequin gives detailed rejections. You evidently showed them something!

We have an itty bitty local zoo near Alamogordo in new Mexico. Tyler is concerned because he doesn't think the white fox has an appropriate habitat because it is too small. (He is addicted to zoo tycoon and is a future zoologist/paleontologist.) His dream is of course to visit Australia and see Steve Irwin's zoo.
I know the British love their animals. I did laugh when it rained in Newmarket because it seemed no matter how bad the weather everyone would be out walking their dogs. (Friends always tell me the dogs don't mind.)

My son Tyler, 8, wants a hedgehog but will have to settle for a guinea pig. He is very disappointed that I lived in the UK so long and never went to the London Zoo as he loves animals. He doesn't believe I found castles and manor houses more interesting than a zoo.
Michelle and Donna thank you for the welcome.

As a Yank I am not sure what Hecks are?
It is hot/dry here in New Mexico and I barely have any grass in my backyard, let alone a garden. (Of course my yard would be called a garden over there, correct?) There are water restrictions as well so my front yard is a desert landscape.
Is it okay for me to be on this forum since I'm not British but I did live in Newmarket for 5 years? The movers broke our yard of ale but I do have some pub signs!

Happy birthday, Kate! I am eagerly awaiting your next 12 point guide thanks to the newsletter I received from Michelle. Barnes & Noble didn't even have an old copy of the 1st edition.
Michelle I loved your newsletter. I am not sure when you get the time to bake and garden with all the books you have coming out.

Welcome to Tracy and congrats to everyone. I can't wait to see your next book, Michelle W.
I finally submitted to HH after lots of help/advice from some of the ladies around here. I did get my first contest entry back and only rxed high 70's. I entered the contest with very little revisions and was happy to see the judges picked up on the same things I figured out were lacking or needed to be changed.

The only problem I have is everyone my age has kids in high school or college and my boys are 8 and 10. I still have to find a sitter to go out.
I didn't meet my hubby until I was 28. (He is 3 yrs younger than me.) We were both stationed in England when we met, so that is our favorite assignment so far.
I don't believe I was mature enough to write in my 20's. I am glad I had time for my career, school and traveling before the boys were born. Now I can sit back, write, volunteer, and not feel as if I missed anything.
