Joanne--I'm glad to hear your son's okay. That'd be scary for any parent.
Wayne--stay warm, and have a great conference!
As for April? Whew! It has been jam-packed for me, too. I'm so not ready for May to arrive--I have too much left to do!

Thanks, Kathleen! Good to see you here. Between toddlers and deadlines, I do hope you get a chance to stop by more often.
Yikes! I've gone through so many memories this past month, looking for pix for my son's graduation reception--I've found pictures of him from the sandbox age, up to the latest prom and concert pictures from this past weekend. Sigh. I'm a basket of mom mush. Not around him, though.
Enjoy every moment!

THIRTY NIGHTS is on my keeper shelf, Tammy. I think it was one of the first Blazes I ever read. I remember the RWA conference where they had a signing with the very first month of Blaze books. Brenda Chin, Julie Leto and the other Blaze launch authors were there. And it was a LONGGGGG line. So cool to see how excited readers were to get their hands on this new line of books.
I sent in my first proposal for a Blaze book shortly thereafter

Yes, I can tell what these next few weeks are going to be like.
We spent yesterday and this morning at music contest with my senior son. (he did very well, btw!
) He stood up to play his solo with the jazz band this morning and I teared up. And he's so low-key about everything!
I'm proud of the nice, funny, smart, talented young man he's grown up to be--but he's still my baby. I'm going to be a mush at every event from here to graduation.

I thought the interview was great to listen to! And thanks to Alison Kent for pointing it out to me in the first place.

Wish I knew how to link
Are you all aware that Brenda Chin and Kathryn Lye have a new interview up about writing for Blaze and what they're looking for here on the eHQ site? I listened, and even as someone who already writes for the line, I found it very interesting--I think it'll help me answer questions better when someone asks, "What exactly is a Blaze?"
More to the point for aspiring Blazers--they talk about what they look for, the differences between Blaze and erotica, and more. You can download it or listen to it at the site. It lasts about twenty minutes. Check it out at http://www.eharlequin.com/store.html?cid=749
Oh, and don't be confused--it's mislabeled as an interview with Birgit-Davis Todd and Mary-Theresa Hussey (I imagine they'll be up at a later date), but it's Episode 5. Just click on that to listen.

Congratulations on your son's graduation, Delores! I'm sure you're a proud mama, too.
And the "middle" of a book? Hmm... just adds more proof to the idea that all writers' processes and styles are different. Not weird.
Though you are the first writer I've heard say actually loves writing the middle ...

Thanks the eHQ's new site technology, it created the link for me. Makes me feel techno-savvy
