It was a delight to meet all of you and chat.  I'm sure there'll be another thread where we can keep in touch!

    Hi Mary, Linda, and Paisley!

Are any of you who love historicals collectors as well?  I love all things vintage, so flea markets and antique stores are my passion when traveling.  I don't have a bare spot in my home because of all the things I've collected and love to display.  Glassware, spice tins, linens, stoneware - you name it, I probably have one...or ten....

...to the chagrin of my children who had to help us move a few years ago--the bad news? We downsized!

Linda, I am fortunate that my husband loves to visit museums and historical sites and homes as much as I do.  When our kids were young, they didn't appreciate it nearly as much as we did, and we always had to give the amusement parks equal time.  Now, we're on our own.  When we travel, we have our destination chosen, and occasionally a hotel or two booked, but most times we stop when we see something we like and end up staying somewhere at the last minute.  That would drive some people crazy, but it's fun and relaxing for us.

We especially love historic homes and living farms or communities.

Hi all!  I'm late chiming in this week, but I've caught up on all your posts!  The new books sound wonderful, and I can't wait to read them all.

I was always a Walton's fan, too, in fact years ago when I wrote one of my first books, it was set in the 40s and I had a narrator running through my head the whole time I was writing.

I'm definitely with those who grew up loving the westerns, and I can't resist cowboys or tales of courage and perserverence.  There's something special about those people who overcame odds to forge a life in a harsh new land, and I love to create story people who come to life in those settings.

By the way, back to the past posts, Anita, I think News From the Pews is brilliant!

Oh my goodnes, Tina, I am speechless.  Every few months??  I'm honored.  Especially because I understand -- I read the books that inspired me to write over and over again, too.  Many thanks.

    >> I save them until I get the whole series then read them together.  <<

Anita, I've done the same thing, though sometimes I just can't wait for the next installment.

Wow, Vicki, thanks so much for telling me that.  Joe's Wife is one of those stories that is special to me, too.  I'm honored to have written one of your favorites and to have been an inspiration.

Hi, Dream!  Hi, Melissa and Mary!

Delighted to hear you read my books, Anita!  Music to a writer's ears.

Nice to touch base with friends, too, Janet and Vicki.  80 degrees?  I thought we were having a heat wave in Nebraska this week -- it was 38 when I picked up my guy at school this afternoon, and all the kids were in their shirtsleeves with no hats or gloves.

And Wayne, we won't discuss weather right now, right?  No doubt it's balmy on the island. Great to see you.  I think I need to add a pic so I can be seen too.  Anyhoo, that's a resounding YES to writing for HH.  In fact I'm working on delivering three books for them right now, and my LIH is in between those--next actually--on the deadline schedule.  So you will definitely see more from me there.  My next release is the western Christmas anthology from HH, probably in October with Caroline Davidson and Vicki.  Vicki, do we have a title?

Well, Valerie, we were all lost once, right? but now we're found!  Your cover is gorgeous!  Readers love wagon train stories, so look for big sales!

Cheryl St.John here.  I'm delighted to have contracted a historical for this exciting new line!  The working title of my book is Song of the Mountain, and I hope it turns into a series.  That's my plan anyway.  The story isn't finished yet, but I'm looking forward to reading the first books coming out soon.

    So, let's get acquainted.
