Well I'm new to this forum... always hanging in another so I thought I'd widen my horizon!!!  I have been trying to get back into my grove after RWA nationals.  Oh what a GREAT time I had.  I can't wait until D.C.!!!  WOOOHOOO!  I volunteered this year, my first, so I met some great people.  Hope to have a first sale ribbon next year.  Yep, that would be the icing on the cake!  Thanks for letting me introduce myself.  Look forward to getting to know you all.

First off (((Tracylori))) on the R.  Keep writing!!!

I just got back from San Francisco and I'm pumped!!!  My hubby laughed when I settled in and grabbed my laptop and went to work!!!  Even the bell boy at the hotel was pitching story ideas...haha!  It was awesome to go to the Harlequin workshop and get the handouts and Dee's face was there!!!  I felt at home!!!  Just like I was back in my happy little forum!

I met so many great authors both published and unpublished.  And you were right... Australia was well represented!  Even the entertainers were from Australia.  The greatest was Debbie Macomber working the room and she came over to ME and introduced herself.  How cool!

One of the workshops I took was with a local agent who gave me an R.  BUT... in actuality our relationship would not work.  But, I introduced myself.  Then when we left SF we took an earlier flight and GUESS WHO WAS SITTING NEXT TO ME!!!  Funny little world.

So just wanted to check in.

    Have a GREAT one!

I leave tomorrow for my first RWA conf. and can't wait!!!  I look forwards to seeing some of you there!!!  I'll be working as a cashier at the Literacy Signing so if you're going stop and say HI!  I'm really looking forward to meeting lots of people.  The chaperts in my area are unresponsive to people asking to be members so looking for "friends" in my career to tag along with!  See ya all there!!!

Finished MS #6!  Going to have an enitre library to sell once I finally get my foot in a door :)

I think it's funny that I get on here to ask about pen names and here you all are talking about pen names!!!  Great minds!!!  What do you all think about writing different lines under different names?  I have some great Spice Ideas, but really want to keep that seperate from my Contemporary work.  I chose my First name and Middle name.  My maiden name, though an awesome name, I think is too personal since its a big name in business in our area.  Then my married name belongs to my children and I really want to keep my life with them seperate too.  So I'm happy with pen name, but what's everyone's opinion on the different lines?

ALSO.... I got my letter from a contest I recently did.  I was very disappointed.  They sent a letter 14 days after they said they would and so far only a letter to say you're not a finalist.  No score sheets, nothing.  How is that supposed to help me??  It's not that I intend to win.  I don't really go in with that attitude.  I just look forward to the feed back... but what good is the $35 when you get nothing.  I have an email into them, so I'll see if they "just forgot" something else :)

Good Luck this week to everyone!!!

Thanks all for your hugs and support. :)  Even my DH met my words of "I got my rejection," by saying..."and what comments did they give us to help us."  He knows anything means something!  But they said to read the line I think I should submit to.  So I hit the eharlequin cart hard today.  I bought from 2 lines that I feel most comfortable writing for.  (Gotta give my accountant my receipt.  This is research!!!)  So i'll have a lot of reading when I get back from San Francisco!!!  I signed up to volunteer in a lot of areas.  I figured it would MAKE me network and make connections and friends.  WOOOHOOO!

Hey Chrystine...CONGRATS...  I'm lookiing forward to details too!!! :)

Who waits for big Rs?  ME!  20 weeks almost straight on I got my R from M&B.  No surprise.  First submit and the minute it went out the door I wasn't happy with it.  Ya know!  Then I submitted that same story to contests got feed back, resubmitted got perfect scores... but what sat at M&B was a synopsis that was so/so with the first few chapters that had already been reworked.  Then I wasn't sure that was really the best line.  SO... knew it would come back, but was just waiting so I could move forward with other MSs to the right lines :)  SO... fingers crossed.  Lots of work to do before conference.  WOW only 3 weeks away.  Can't wait!

Hi everyone!  Working on my ms... 12 pages today so far.  Last night fell asleep at the key board :)  happens...  I emailed M&B looking for information on my submit from Feb, but I've yet to hear back.  Do you think that if I don't hear in a few weeks it would be acceptable to submit to another editor?  I have another work that would fit one of the editors in Canada.  Frustrating, but I know they get a ton of ms(s) to go over.  Just being impatient.  But convention is coming up so I have something to look forward too.  My mom is going with me...though she'll be relaxing.  She's already gone shopping for all new clothes.  I'm on a binge this week.  Friday is my bday and Sat my twins' bday so lots of cake.  I may have to go buy new clothes too just to fit int them.  haha!  Take care all!
