- What Happens in Vegas...04/21/2008 - 21:06
Hey Jodi!!...Great to see you here. Love the title of the anthology. Can you share a bit about the Vegas aspects? I'm one of those readers who is ALWAYS fascinated by stories set in Vegas...
And I love reading first person. Laura Caldwell's Burning the Map must be one of my all time first-person favs. But how did you find writing first person in love-scenes?

Oh, Nicki, you just made me burst out laughing. Too funny. Try videos, playstation, popcorn and pizza. All the things we moms always say have to be limited :-)
For those keen to win that gorgeous diamond pendant, the February Clues are up on the www.diamonds-downunder.com blog. And there's a quick contest to win a copy of my debut book Black Widow Bride and Jan Colley's oh so sexy Melting the Icy Tycoon.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Tessa :-)

Maureen, you're psychic :-) Or at the very least an empath. I did manage to get some time next to the sea... and that was wonderfully relaxing. And I listened to jazz. And drank great Hawkes Bay wines...

H! That's the very, very best compliment you can pay a writer, I promise. Thank you so much for making me grin from ear to ear.
And April, it takes willpower to wait. But there's definitely something so satisfying about adding to that hoard each month. Then when you read them it's sheer pleasure to put one down and pick the next up straight away.
But sometimes it's great to plough into the story and then spend the rest of the month waiting eagerly for that next installment. I've done that SO many times, I've lost count.

Welcome, Sri...you're not alone, I lurk too. But it's a great place to be. And Jules, let us know ALL the news and details when Madelyn makes her appearance.
Maureen, I can't wait for those King guys to show up in the stores. It looks like a fab trilogy. Emilie, I've heard great things about that workshop. What was the most memorable thing that you took away from it?
Over on www.diamonds-downunder.com the February clues are up. So if you're after that gorgeous Diamond Pendant you might want to check those out. Remember NOT to post the answers.
There's a fun giveaway of my debut book Black Widow Bride and Jan Colley's incredibly sexy Melting the Icy Tycoon. And talking about sexy...Jan's Satin & A Scandalous Affair has THE most sizzling cover...whew.

Sandra, now that's the BEST excuse I've ever heard to go and buy a new dress.
Although maybe diamonds, scandalously, don't even need a dress!
But seeing that we are talking about dresses and diamonds, I remember thinking how gorgeous Bron's heroine, Kim, sounded when Bron described this white dress Kim intended to wear. And when I first saw the cover for Vows & A Vengeful Groom I thought, YES, THAT'S KIM, THAT'S THE DRESS. It's wonderful when editors and art directors and cover artists get the writer's vision and manage to encapsulate it in an image. Magic.

Paula! I'm glad you got your technohitches sorted. I feel like a total tenderfoot...it's years since I've gotten lost on eHarlequin! CONGRATULATIONS on your RT nominations...we're all going to be screaming for you!
Hi Ola! Thanks for forsaking your cave to come and visit. I'm so looking foward to those sheikhs of yours...I can't wait
Now that pendant is simply boooootiful! When we were trying to choose what to make the prize, the shopping savvy among us sourced a list of jewellery (yep, that's the down-under spelling) and at least 3 of us voted for that gorgeous puff pendant....I think it's elegant, sparkly, glittery, GORGEOUS.
Before we get a photo up, does any one want to have a go at describing it? Have a peep http://www.diamonds-downunder.com/contest.html and see what words you choose...

Welcome Christa! Lovely to see you again. I hope you had a good break while you house sat?
I try for surprises--mostly because that's what I love as a reader. I like to keep guessing. As a reader I love to think that I've got it all sussed...then find out I'm wrong. But the writer's not allowed to cheat. There must be some clues when I go back through the text, which I simply missed.
As a writer I've found sometimes the stories just don't lend themselves to twists, and sometimes it takes a lot of nefarious and devious wracking of brains to come up with stuff that works. Usually the characters come up with it in dialogue, usually at a very late stage. They can be very sneaky...
It always gives me a 'Why didn't I think of that' moment.
There are heaps of surprises right through the Diamonds Down Under series. So keep reading.
