Hey all,
My hands finally stopped hurting enough for me to type. LOL! Just want to drop in and say thank you for your prayers and all the thanksgiving going up for me. I really appreciate it and definitely feel the prayers and God's kindness toward me. I am definitely on the mend.
Also just wanted to mention that I'm not at all offended by non-stellar reviews. I respect honesty and am just really glad folks are jumping on board with the 100,000 book challenge. I won't lie and say my first bad public review didn't sting...but it only lasted for about ten minutes then I came to my senses. One cannot harbor easily-hurt-feelings and survive long in this industry. LOL!
Anyway, thanks so much for your support, friendship, readership and most definitely your prayers and thanksgiving to God on my behalf and that of my children. I'm lifting all of your concerns up as well.
Hugs all!

Aww! Thanks you guys. It really is surreal to have people discussing MY book on here. Honestly, I've been a long-time community member and some days I still have to pinch myself over the fact that I'm getting to write for Steeple Hill. So I'm thrilled you're liking the books.
Book three won't be out until 2009. It's called Ready-Made-Family and is Ben's story. But to bridge the gap between books two and three, I am going to be blogging from the perspective of Psych the cat. Remember him?
Anyway, I realize I'm babbling on but I just want you to know how much it means that you're giving Wings of Refuge Series a shot.
Here's to hoping each of your dreams come true too.
I just finished Time for Grace by Kate Welsh and am now reading Family Ever After (Margaret's newest book) right now...and am sad I got interrupted reading it. LOL! The children in that book are tugging my heartstrings.

I am praying for each of you. My heart goes out about all these situations and I know God knows each one and cares about the families involved.
Thanks for bringing your cares here everyone.

Congrats all on your great writing progress! Woo-hoo Hope for finishing your ms!
Dream..I forgot to tell you I met my Feb goal and my next goal which was Ben's story in by March 25. But I can't remember if I mentioned that goal so don't bother with marking it.
New goal is next PJ proposal by May 1.

I did actually get picked for a trial which was five counts of kidnapping and first degree murder. The judge said (and I quote) "None of the details of this trial better show up in one of your books until after the trial is over."
Um...until after the trial is over???
Does he know fiction writers or what? LOL!

Lla....Coming in late on this, but hugs on the R. Sounds like you're back in the saddle again. So, happy you're not giving up. I've always heard that if the editor writes anything on the rejection, that means they saw promise in your work...so according to the letter you described and how specific it was...you are closer than most! Can't give up now. Praying for divine direction on what to work on next, and that God will send folks who can pinpoint the areas that will strengthen your writing to the point it blows the editor's socks off.
You've gotten some great advice here and I'm thankful for Vicky and Janet, etc, etc taking time to give advice. I'm taking notes too! :-)
Nike...I sure hope you don't get 3-4 more rejections. LOL! I wasn't as near where you are when I started subbing. I didn't even know there was such a thing as craft. LOL! Who knows...your next one could be it! I'm hoping!
I've received a rejection since selling too...and didn't realize how common that actually is. So apparently R's are just part of the territory.
Hugs all!

Hey all..back from jury duty.
Patti...I have to try that water trick! Very cool.
Welcome to the boards, Amy! How's the writing going?
Anita Mae...that baby goat story was precious. I can totally see that in a book scene.

Nike, thank you for your kind words about me and A Soldier's Promise being ACFW's March featured author.
I also found out this week that A Soldier's Family was chosen as the May Love Inspired Book Club selection for ACFW. I hope you all will join in the discussion if you've read the book.
It touches a bit on what you all are talking about here...women and the way men see them...my hero struggles with that but he responds rightly. I hope you'll be able to join the chat too. I think it will be around June 2. I'll try to post reminders.
Been MIA for jury duty...hope everyone's doing well. Trying to catch up on posts....
Hugs all!
