does anyone know where the Lladrana series starts for the Luna books? I'm just starting Protector of the Flight by Robin D. Owens, but I'm sure there are other books that came before this with other characters in the same setting of Lladrana....does anyone know the order maybe?

Kate - I love Diana Palmer but I haven't gotten the chance to read as many of hers as I would like to (although I have more on the way!)...anywho, so far, my favourite would have to be Evan from the Long Tall Texans series...or maybe Heartbreaker...I liked both...but Outsider is also somewhere near the top...anywho, I'm going to be reading more, so if I come across one I like even more, I'll let you know!

Thank you everyone for what you said! (Janet, Mary, Sandi, Cady, and Kate-- I think I remembered all of you Smile)...I did feel better knowing he wasn't that far away...we took him to the airport yesterday morning...my dad (who's usually the tough guy) bawled is eyes out when my brother had to go...I didn't, but there were a couple close calls...anyways, I guess it won't be too long before I see him...

So how's everyone else doing? I just read this book called The Outsider by Diana Palmer (my favourite authoress) and it was good! I loved the Apache mystical element she added to it-- how the father and daughter shared a special bond even when they hadn't even known each other for the first seven years of her life...it was so good!

okay, so it's been hectic with last minute preparations for my brother's departure, and I'm sitting her gnawing my nails off with increasing anxiety...he hasn't really been on his own without us his entire life so we're all sitting here worrying and piling on advice, hoping he'll be okay....I have to admit, I'm sitting here wondering what it will be like not having him around for the next couple of years...I grew up with him, so now it's going to be weird...just me and my oldest brother-- and we don't even get along all that well...o heck, sorry I'm venting...

Home Is Where the Heart Is

Instead of pausing, I say “eh”
    I don’t like guns, I like hockey
    I’m not important
But people hear what I say
    Because I am a citizen.
We go bob-sledding in the winter
And play hockey on the ice
    Field hockey in the summer
    And lacrosse on the field
    I don’t like elegance
    I like homeliness
I’m not rich in treasures of the wallet
But in treasures of the earth
We’re wealthy in our homes, family, and friends
We believe in peace by living it
    Not fighting for it
Our land’s beauty is in its variety
    We don’t have houses
    We have homes
    We’re a cultural mosaic
Not a melting pot of stew
    We’re not alcoholics or drunks
    But we like our beer
When we drink, we’re not drunk
    We’re just tipsy
We have the biggest beer mugs
    With the biggest handles
    We like our touques
    Not our hats
And no matter what people say
No matter who bought us out
We are the land of the first and best Tim Horton’s
Our animals are not of beauty
    But of integrity
    I’m a brilliant career woman
The men can’t beat me down--

    Thanks a bunch, Famous Five!

    I’m a Canadian housewife

I don’t buy brownies, cakes, or desserts

    I make them

    I’m not sophisticated or worldly

But I bake the best apple pies on a Sunday afternoon

I am unique in my culture

    But I’m still Canadian

I believe in giving children the wealth of a childhood

Not the wealth of a $20 bill

I can have any food I like

    By driving down the street

    We speak the universal language:

    A smile

    ‘Colour’ is spelt ‘c-o-l-o-u-r’

    Not ‘c-o-l-o-r’

I’m not subject to a king or queen

    But I am a citizen.

    Honestly, I’m a nobody

    But my name is Gelle

And I’m proud to be Canadian!

    Eh?

Some of you may have realized, but when I wrote this, I was taking on the personas of different people...I'm not actually a housewife like all my friends asked me when they read this Laughing

    Hope you all enjoyed!

    Heylo everyone!

Sandi, my brother's moving to Calgary because he hasn't decided what he wants to do with his life yet...my aunt is moving over there for two years because of something to do with her company and she invited my brother to go along...and since things are really picking up over there, he'll do really well for himself if he manages to land a good job...

As for myself, I haven't yet decided what I to be yet, but for the moment I'm really liking the law courses I took and I'm thinking of taking communications technology....I've always liked that course so I'm probably going to try out another one...

Anyways, I'd better go and do the house work that's waiting for me...I have been far too engrossed in this new book I'm reading (No Safe Place by Joann Ross)...it's a really good book so far...

    So how's everyone else doing?

(P.S. Terri, you have earthquakes, floods, mudslides, and brush fires??!! Whoa, this place feels like Tame Central compared to the sound of that! Geez, is it very dangerous?)

Jordanne - You own two horses? Talk about lucky! Laughing...the closest I've gotten to them is this one time where I got to go on one of those tourist-ee slow rides where even a three year old could ride one...wasn't very exciting but meh, I'll take what I can get...

Glad your daughter's okay and that she's learned to be careful...

Okay, I'm done, think I'll go eat something and clean the house...

  • 01/25/2008 - 16:31

Oi, I did indeed smell the food, too bad I'm not allowed to eat anything that might pack on the pounds....as it stands I have to go to my cousin's wedding in the summer so I have to start eating healthy and exercising so I no longer look like Free Willy's offspring...

Thank you all for the warm welcome, I don't feel quite so nervous now...Smile

Jordon, how's your friend? I've been through one of those myself, so I know how terrifying it can be...I'm so glad nothing serious happened...is she ok now, at least in terms of the shock?

Are you to the Oshawa Centre? I go shopping there all the time, really good! Just wait, in no time our small group will expand...I wish I could say the same about moving back to the country...never lived there myself, but it's in my blood, no doubt about it-- I'm definitely not the city type...they say they used to have tons of horses around here way back before this place developed...is that true or are they just pulling my leg?

    So how's everyone else doing?
