Christyne, your puppy is adorable. Congrats!!! Love the name. It's the name I have picked should my two cats ever allow a dog in their house. LOL.

Kathleen, don't count out the shelters until you visit them. There are sooooo many strays that need a loving home. You and the boys might be surprised by what breed of dog you fall inlove with and which falls in love with you. Good luck with the hunt.

Just got the mail and found my contest entry. Wanted to send my new ms out into the world and see what some strangers thought of it. Well, I didn't final but I did really, really good. I got some great judges who were willing to point out where I had some problems. Sooooo with some minor changes which I've already started working on, I hope to have a stronger story. Beginnings are always my hardest part. There's just so much to stuff in there and keep the pace humming along. Although I am getting better with each story.

Holly, thanks. I plan to enjoy every moment of our vacation. With two active teenagers, business trips, and all the stuff with the house, we need this time together. Can't wait.

That about describes my life right now. I've finally got my excercise routine firmly in place but boy does it chew up my time. About an hour and half in the morning and another half hour to an hour in the evening. Yikes. At least it gives me time to do some brainstorming since I'm getting ready for a new story. SQUEAL!!!

Now for my BIG news, dh surprised me with a mini-vacation for our anniversary. YEAH!!! Now normally we always go away for our anniversary but this year we've just gotten hit left and right with unexpected expenses/projects and they're still popping up so we agreed to stay home and make his vacation a working a vacation around the house. I've got to say I was making peace with the decision until recently when I started to think of all the things we do on vacation that we wouldn't get to do. Like we have started collecting prints of a particular artist and it's a series so I was pouting because I couldn't get the next one, but now I can get another one. *VBG* So now I'm rushing around seeing if I can get his anniversary gift overnighted and figuring out the numerous last minute details. And thrilled to be doing it.

Holly, I like your idea about the really short synopsis for a proposal. I think my problem is I have finished ms's so I know all of the details and keep trying to squeeze everything in including the kitchen sink. LOL. BTW, heard the forecast for Saturday and the weather is supposed to beautiful. Hopefully I'll have a new driveway.

Ann, glad the machine is working for you and helping you feel rested. Maybe I should suggest it to dh. Hmm.. I'll be dropping you an email after I finish this post. Thanks.

Lisa62, welcome back!!! Thrilled to hear you are writing again. And congrats on the new gbaby. You'll be a very busy grandma. Keep up all the good work.

Michele, have fun with the podcasting. Got my fingers crossed for your dd's placement test.

Off to email Ann. Hope everyone has a beautiful day and is able to stay cool on this hot, hot day.

    Happy writing,

I appreciate your input. I have one more question. If an editor is talking about a secondary character and says that maybe there isn't enough detail in the synopsis to explain what happened to them, does this mean I need to expand on my synopsis?

Almost forgot (not enough caffeine *G*) congrats on starting a new project. That's so exciting. That's the reason I'm pushing to get this ms finished up. I've already found myself daydreaming about my next story. It'll be a follow-up to the ms Kathleen currently has. I'm trying to get the GMC all ironed out so I can dig in when I finish this story. Do you find that you love the story you are currently working on best? I'm quickly find that to be the case.

Are you a plotter or panster? I'm becoming a reformed panster. Plotting is a lot easier and I find myself going on less detours and I don't have to turn around to get back on track either. LOL.

    Have fun,

I worked on my synopsis this weekend and I finally have a full draft. Although to be perfectly honest since my ms is complete, it didn't take me that long to write the synopsis. *sigh* Now I'm wondering if it's too long so I'm going back through and tightening it. How long do your synopsis run?

Michele, I used to help my father cut two acres of grass so I know how long it can take especially when it's littered with trees and flowers and an assortment of other things that have to be trimmed around. Glad you are abe to get someone else to do it for you.

Holly, I've got three more hostas to plant too, but I'm still in a holding pattern. Thanks to the weather and work schedules, they haven't poured my driveway yet. Crossing fingers the weather holds for this Saturday. After they do the driveway, I have finish digging out the strip along the side to put in the white rock, hostas, and lights. I decided my next project is putting in a small vegetable garden. I've finally settled on a spot. Yeah!

Okay, off to work some more on my synopsis. Wish me luck that I get it naied down.

    Happy writing,

The baseball game last night was a great break from things here at home. After a long, leisurely game (the one pitcher took a 'lot' of time trying to keep the guy on first from stealing second and I do mean a lot) anyway after the game we got to sit back and watch a really nice fireworks display. And since we were up to our necks in dirt for the Fourth of July, it was nice to be abe to watch some.

Holly, good luck with that fence. I have to start peeling/chipping this week so I can paint the back porch. This summer is one project after another. *g*

Ann, glad to hear the plays were a hit. As for trimming, I've found that while I'm actually writing/editing it gets tough to see the forest for the trees, but once I go back to read it over from beginning to end, I am abe to tighten things.

Well I've got one chapter left to edit and the synopsis to finish writing so I best get to work on that. Well, maybe after I eat. LOL. The supper dh so kindly made for us smells yummy.

    Happy writing,

LOL. This has been a long, hard summer with all the things that need done outside. It seems like everything needs done at once. We did get the yard seeded, straw put down, and lilies planted, but didn't get all of the cleaning done. We'll get to it this weekend. Today we get to go to a baseball game and I'm looking forward to doing something outside besides work. *G*

Aurlene, most times I enjoy doing the yardwork, just not when so much needs done at once. LOL.

Holly, I didn't get a chance to check out your newspaper article yet but that's where I'm headed now.

I did squeeze in some writing yesterday but I was tired so I didn't get in as much as I wanted. Hoping to get some more done today. I did like the changes I made so I guess that's something.

Hope everyone has a marvelous weekend,

Swinging by to say 'good morning'. It's gorgeous here today. Lower temps and low humidity. As such dh took a vacation day to help me finish up with the back yard by leveling it off the dirt, planting grass seed, and cleaning. How sweet of him not to make me do it myself. *G* On the downside won't get any writing done today, at least not until much later. He's already chomping at the bit to get to work and I told him not until I check my email and drink a cup of caffeine. LOL. Guess I better go.

Hope everyone has a productive day. I'm really close to finishing my ms, fingers crossed I can work on it later.
