Cora – I have three teenage girls. That talking thing...It gets old. ~L~

I love my girls, (17, 15 & 12). They’ve turned into real people with thoughts and opinions all their own. Most days it’s a battle to keep them from doing anything monumentally stupid that’ll mess up their lives (because of that thoughts and opinion thing) And preparing them for the world they're racing full-tilt to enter as best I can before they’re out of my grasp.

Every now and again though, when I’m sitting there having a conversation with them about books or politics or friends I flash on those little two and three year old girls I used to have toddling around my house asking me to refill their sippy cups and look at their coloring books and my breath catches. It’s a cliché but it’s so true, they grow up so fast, but it keeps getting better and better.

    Enjoy those babies ladies!

To request a status check you can use the same email address you submitted to. In the subject line put:

STATUS CHECK: Your title, by Your name. (Make sure your name is the same name you used to submit. If you submitted under a penname, that's the name they'll search by)

Be polite in your wording. Be professional and concise. You don't want them to get the feeling that you're badgering them to hurry up. You're just checking that your submission is still in the system and being considered. You're not asking "where" in the process it is, just if it's still being considered.

They’ll search their computer for your name and title. They don’t need a summery or synopsis. Keep in mind they’re swamped. If it hasn’t been at least 3 months since you submitted, I STRONGLY suggest waiting to request a status check.

    Hope that helps!

So sorry to read about your "R", JX! They suck even when you're ready for them. It's great to try new lines and genres, though. You never know what you like until you try it. ~L~

I submitted a bite back in (are you ready for it) February! To be fair, I submitted it to the wrong editor and a long process of confusion and miscommunications finally had me resubmitting in May. I'm still waiting. All though after a status check I heard as of July 9th it was still being considered.

Today makes three months since the second time I submitted it. I'm chewing on my fingernails and trying to occupy my brain to keep me from bugging them with another status check. Ugh. Waiting it rough!

{{Hugssss!}}  I may need them soon too. Surprised~L~

I have a short story (seriously short. Under 10k) that I really love. There's not much of a market for it. I had a magazine on the hook for three months, but space issues kept them from biting. Grrr... Oh well. Thought it was worth checking into. Thanks, Dee!! ~Paige Wink

Has anyone heard if the editors at Nocturne Bites are at all interested in Sci-fi (futuristic, with robots & stuff) romances?

    Thanks! ~Paige Smile

    P.S. I skimmed over the last few posts. Jodie, I'm so sorry to read about the "R". Don't let it slow you down! {{HUGSSS}}

Where can I find Ann Leslie Tuttle's update? I can never seem to find anything on the boards. Someone gave me the link to this thread and if I hadn't bookmarked it, I'd never find it again. Tongue out (Me= chat board challenged)

Is Ann's update here on the boards somewhere ? Anyone care to share a link?

    Thanks!

    Hi All! *waving*

I'm a new Spice Brief author. In fact my SB was released this month. DARK MOON GATHERING. I totally LOVED writing it.

I have a question though. Being new to the Harlequin author world, how are reviews handled? Is it up to the author to send copies to review sites or does Harlequin handle that?

    Happy to be here!!
