Mary, you sound like such a wonderful grandma!!  I'm sure your dd and son-in-law are grateful for your help, and how you've given it in such a gentle, loving way.

Potty training... ahhh.... that brings back memories.  While I miss the baby snuggles, I have to confess I do NOT miss the potty training.  All 4 of our kids seemed to have a different pace and worked with different incentives.  And just when we would think we had it tackled, some disruption to the routine would take it back a step.  I imagine this is a subject mothers will be discussing with the same frustration hundreds of years from now!

    Cheers~~

Beth brought up a great idea for a topic.... With all this baby news around here (Chick's new baby, Mary's grandbaby and Beth's pregnancy), it would be a fun time to share our hard-won parenting wisdom stories or tips we've learned - or as in my case, are still learning along the way.

My advice?  Snuggle that precious little one.  The house can be clean later.  And find time to be alone with your hubby.  Remember you're a couple as well as parents.

Looking forward to hearing what others have to share on the subject!

    Cheers~~

Hi there!  Happy Father's Day weekend, everyone! What kind of plans do you have to celebrate the dads in your life?

Donna - Thank you for that lovely tribute!!  I appreciate your posting it.  I've seen so many moving posts on this subject, I've decided to keep the "Memorial Day" thread on my website message board so that it's a year-round thing.  Please do feel free to stop by over there and post your tribute, if you would like.

Beth - SO pleased to hear all's going well with your pregnancy!  Aren't ultrasounds amazing?!  I get teary eyed just thinking of seeing each of my children on that screen for the first time.

Mary - Ah, you make me yearn for those grandmother days!!  I adore babies - always have.  My kids are getting older... while they're not quite to the age to get married and have kids yet, we're all thinking it won't be too far in the future!

Beth C - I totally hear you on teenager issue!  All four of ours are teens right now (oldest is turning 20 next week, though.)  They're great kids, but me oh my, I have learned SO much about patience lately!!!

    Hugs and love!

Also as a reminder, I'm currently running a "military heroes" book giveaway/contest, featuring: OUT OF UNIFORM by Catherine Mann and UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL by Joanne Rock!! Here's the scoop on the stories and how to enter:

OUT OF UNIFORM by Catherine Mann
    Silhouette Romantic Suspense 2/08
Natural-born warrior Jacob Stone never ignored a lady in distress. So when a stunning brunette clad only in a cocktail dress stumbled to his doorstep, the off-duty Air Force Sgt. went into protector mode. But could he really believe "Dee's" claims that she'd lost her memory… or was her amnesia a ruse to hide a dangerous secret? For someone had certainly set their sites on getting rid of Dee. Yet they hadn't counted on Jacob's resolve. Dee was his responsibility. Even more…she'd become integral to his next breath. And no one messed with his lady.

UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL by Joanne Rock
    Harlequin Blaze 5/08
Posing as a live model in a sex class was bound to be hard—but Rocco Easton will, uh, rise to the occasion. The seductive moves of sensuality guru Jessica Winslow are no match for Rocco's SEAL training. He'll expose her scam—even if it means he gets a supercharged sex life out of the deal.... But things get weird when his sultry sex maven turns out not to be the con artist he thinks, but the victim of identity theft. Gone are his plans for getting even. Now he's in protector mode. Because the identity thief is getting braver, pretending to be Jessica everywhere. Including his bed!
