Lisa Hall – she went in for the biopsy and the doctor confirmed she has breast cancer, but it is localized and has not spread. She will begin radiation as soon as possible, but no chemotherapy is scheduled at this time.

Bud Harrison – a few weeks back I asked for prayers for Bud Harrison. He’s in his early 90’s and had a bout with the flu then the doctors said his colon was blocked and he only had hours to live. Yesterday, I spoke with his daughter and she said he’s now in a nursing home and sitting up in a wheelchair. He is able to leave his room every day. He’s started mixing up his times – sometimes he thinks he’s still living at home with his mom – so hospice has taken over his care, but he is able to leave his room every day. Please continue to pray for him and his family.

VA – we received word yesterday that the VA convalescence claim is currently at the rating board and is marked as expedited. Still praying we hear something very soon.

A new request for Gail Sapp. She had a headache for about a month or so, but didn’t go to the doctor or anything. Then, this last weekend, she began vomiting and her husband took her to the ER. They discovered a spot on her lung and the back of her brain. They did a biopsy on her lung and are awaiting the results. Please pray for this family as this is Bud Harrison’s (from above) daughter.

I probably should have posted this first, but oh well. We had a safe trip to Muskogee and back. The doctor was VERY thorough and gave him new prescriptions for all of his medications without a problem. And, they didn't cost us anything! Also, even after tolls, lunch, a pin for Jeff's hat and drinks, we left with more money than we came in with thanks to the travel voucher!

Thanks for all of your prayers!

Hi guys! Pammer posted this to the Prayer Loop today!

    Hi all,

I heard from Cheryl today. I was a little worried since I tried to call yesterday. (You know how a writer's mind works. Let's just say I'm not lacking in the imagination department.)

Anyway, I got some of my info wrong, and I apologize for that. Cheryl broke her ankle, and her foot in a couple of places. Undefined injuries on her knee, hand, neck and mouth.

The other driver walked out of the hospital! the police are searching and have issued her a few citations concerning the wreck. They are pretty sure she didn't have insurance. Cheryl's insurance will cover her medical costs to a certain point. I don't think it will replace their van however. I continue to pray I'm wrong about this. I've worked insurance for almost half my life but am still not all that familiar with motor vehicle insurance.

Cheryl went to the surgeon today and since it's so swollen they aren't able to do much. They took x-rays (I think it was x-rays) and said they'd get back with her when they get all the results. Not sure if she need surgery or not. I'm praying not, I'm praying God will heal her without medical intervention. Will you pray in agreement with me?

She got a good nights sleep last night, praise the Lord.

I will update you as I know more. And Chery will when she regains the use of her hand for typing.

    Hugs,
    Pammer

Hi! Jeff (DH) has an appointment with the VA doctors today in Muskogee. Please pray for traveling mercies (about 2 hours each way) and for the appointment to go well.

This came in overnight on the ACFW Prayer loop:

Cheryl asked me to post this.

She is in need of our prayers. Tonight she was hit by an impaired driver (who was going way too fast and I think this other driver ran the red light or a stop sign) and hit Cheryl in her van with the three girls.
The girls are okay. Cheryl has a severely broken ankle and a hurt knee. They have her scheduled with a surgeon on Monday. She may be looking at another surgery.
Please hold her up in your prayers.
Please say a special prayer for Cheryl and her family.

Thanks to the grant from the American Legion, we got a washer this week for $50.00. It’s a small portable one – the kind on rollers that hooks into your kitchen sink – but it’s WAY better than using the tub to wash clothes. Praising God for His blessings and trusting Him for continued provisions.

God provided money for our utilities and rent today through a grant for veterans. And, since we’ve already paid the rent this month, we are able to use that money for other bills – like my phone.

On the convalescence pay (from surgeries Jeff had last year in April, August and November) we finally got someone to figure out what was going on and he’s trying to get the claim pushed through so that we’ll have the money quickly.

Thanks for your prayers. My lights, gas, water and phone will stay on this month.

Over the next month or so, we should be going to several different disability hearings. Currently, the VA is processing convalescence pay for the surgeries Jeff had last year, but now they need another paper from the doctor saying how many months he was out for the surgeries. I’ve called and faxed the doctor’s office, but haven’t been able to actually talk to anyone yet, only voice mail. Please pray that we can get the nurse practitioner on the phone tomorrow and get the paperwork we need for the VA to at least pay the convalescence pay quickly. We have a grant application in with the VA and hopefully it will be processed quickly, a hearing scheduled for April 30th with the Railroad Retirement Board for their long term disability, and we’re still waiting for Social Security to set up a hearing. We also have a pending settlement with the company he worked for that would be really helpful. And, we’re also trying to get the VA to give him a permanent increase.

Thankfully, because he is at 50% with the VA, he will get all medical treatment (not just service-connected) free at the VA medical center, but we have to drive two hours each way to the nearest clinic.

Moving to Oklahoma has helped lower our expenses, but currently our income is $955 per month and our rent, utilities, car payment, insurance and gas come up to around $2000 per month. Obviously not a situation that can last long. The convalescence pay would help tide us over until the long term disability is approved.

Thanks so much for all of your prayers. I can’t wait to send a praise report through on this!

Well, we really didn't get a LOT, but for me and the kids (born and raised in sunny Florida where the last time we got snow was before I got married) it was fun. I posted a movie on my blog. Check it out and see how excited they got when we only had an inch or so on the ground earlier in the week and that came overnight. Then, yesterday it actually snowed during the day and they barely waited until the ground was covered before going out there. Now it's melting pretty quickly, so they're getting a last few minutes of playtime in.

Michelle - Southerner born and bred, but enjoying the snow very much!

Well we're getting settled. We did get a refrigerator at a REALLY good price, but we're still looking for a stove and washer.

If you remember, please say a prayer tomorrow morning. DH has a hearing that hopefully will result in a settlement for us. Since we've moved, he won't be able to attend, but please pray for a good outcome.
