AGH I am very jealous Carol! I've seen Neil Diamond and he is fab. What a truly talented entertainer. I would LOVE to see Duran Duran. DH got offered a job with them and refused, I think because I was giving birth at the time. The fool!
Aurelene, I used to love Joey-Joe.
Nell, you are such a cool chick.

Yes, it's something like US$8 a gallon here in the UK. For me, that's not very important because I walk or take public transport everywhere. And the UK is so expensive anyway, I think US$10 for shampoo and conditioner is quite reasonable. I shamelessly exploited the dollar/pound difference when I was in the US last week, and bought three different types of moisturiser for less than half the price. This is a serious investment as Fecklet and I have eczema and, well, I'm no longer in my 20s and therefore can't use the cheap stuff on my face. Petrol would be less expensive, even in the UK.
Anyway I'm sorry I've been MIA for so long. Lots of stress, lots of things going on. I should send off my latest book to my agent on Monday and then have a few days to relax.
Trish, as someone who gets asked for author photos and has to drag out the same scanned and cropped low-res photo taken before she got published (lovely as it is), I am fully behind planning ahead photo-wise.

Hooray Jennifer!!
Mel, I don't think you need to say anything. If, like, it had changed from a romantic suspense to a inspirational, or an erotic to a sweet, or if the hero's best friend was suddenly actually the hero, you might need to say something. But good agents get dozens of queries a day, plus they read their own authors' stuff, plus they read what's current in the market. They are not going to remember every word of your query, just that they liked it. And if she does, she'll be blown away by the great changes without you mentioning it.
It's a lot of work for you, and every change means a shift in your blood and guts; but it's five minutes' reading for her. That's just the way the industry works. Send along the revised ms and let your revisions speak for themselves!
Donna...fair enough, I am often even as clueless as you thought I was.

Congratulations Lauren! May this be the first of many, many sales for you.
Mel, I'm a little confused by your question. Does the agent need to know you've revised the ms? Why?

See, myself, I have very delicate skin and therefore need to be cloaked by several BBTs at once. I find that David Tennant, Cillian Murphy and Ewan McGregor all work very well as human sunscreens.
Grappa, anyone?

Hee hee, glad it livened up a dull flight a bit, Stephanie.
Keeping fingers crossed all round for everyone.

Lisa, thank you so much for thinking of my book Delicious when you saw No Reservations! I haven't seen it yet but I think I would love it.
Joyce, well, you can have a well-deserved sense of accomplishment. I hope the new job is great.
Hugs to your DD, MB. That is tough for her and for you to watch.
Jamie, I hope you had fun with your friend on her birthday.
Welcome Michelle_here. I hope your health is better. I often can't read the genre I'm writing when I'm mid composition. But I do read as much of it as I can in between books, and during the revision process, too.
I have been lucky enough lately to have my agent and editor recommend books for me to read so I've had a huge amount of really pleasurable stuff to discover. And it counts as work! I love this job.
Well, in some ways. Today and tomorrow I'm writing like crazy to try to finish my first draft, because Wednesday morning I'm flying off to the USA to see my grandmother, who has become very ill indeed. I'm leaving the Fecklet with DH, who will do just fine together.
I think I have about two more chapters to go, though I always write endings too fast and have to layer more in.

You're only 31!?!?
Goodness, that's why you still look 25.
- 04/25/2008 - 00:44And just think, for a mere slip of a 21-year-old girl, you have achieved so much...

I think Gordon Ramsay is sexy. You should probably shoot me now to put me out of my misery.
Glad the ultrasound was okay, Joyce. I bet the haircut is cute!
Hooray for the free stuff, Lisa!
Yay Christyne on the 4 stars!
