- Congrats Barbara05/16/2008 - 14:13
Barbara -- that is wonderful news! Hooray for you!
Did you know that the current podcast is Nocturne? It was really interesting to listen to. I have read a few Nocturnes and know a couple of the HH lhussies have been taken so I was curious....
Gas prices in the UK are over 5 pounds per galloon, or $10 US. The vast majority of it is tax. Do not get me started...
I have just sent in my revisions so am a bit punch drunk. Why am I always so nice to my characters? In the end I opened an vein and bled.
Michelle W -- I hope your baby is better.
There should be more, but I am truly pleased for Barbara.

Even back in those days, I never anything like that, so I think it sounds cool.
Michelle s who led a distinctly non cool life...

You simply do NOT want to know what petrol prices are in Britain. I think they are some of the most expensive in the world. It costs me about 60 pounds to fill up the car so about $120. That is for the Volvo estate.
The Megane is a midsize car and is about $100.
The gas mileage is about the same as the US.
Michelle S, tightening her belt which I suppose is better than letting the belt become tight.

My sister was seriously in love wit h John Taylor in her teens...
My sons' guitar teacher's daughter is one of the back up singers for Duran Duran. That reminds me that he was supposed to get a signed photo...
Even with teenagers, I am not sure who is in the charts. They know. And I ignore, unless I like the music.

LOL Carole. It is just that I doing revisions on the ms that I turned in in January, and the hero was inspired by RA. So it was helpful to watch the last episode of N&S again.
But I agree with everyone else, Biddy definitely does not want to watch N&S.

Donna --
How wonderful.I am so very proud of you and this story as you well know!
Valerie -- N&S gives one insight into why RA has a legion of followers.Episode 4 makes me cry. It is where he holds her hand and before that when he is whispering Look Back. Sigh. Can you tell that I watched the last episode yesterday, in part because I am doing revisions...but mainly because RA is wonderful.

Biddy --
Do yourself a favour. Watch N&S. It is SO worth it.
M&B movie dvd? It sounds intriguing.
It is hazy here and so I am hoping for good weather.
And it is lovely to see a busy pub. One of the great things about a pub is that no one minds what you are drinking.

Natasha Oakley did a Choclate day on the PHS last tuesday. I just wish my waist line did not expand so much as even the mention of the word!
I love zoos. My dh and youngest son are keen birdwatchers, so we tend to visit all the Natural history museums as well the castles and big houses.
The London Zoo is a bit old fashioned but quite good.
Valerie -- you should make time to see the SF zoo when you are there for Nationals. It is excellent. California Academy of Science's aquarium in Golden Gate park is good as well...And if you have time to go further afiled, the Monterey Bay Aquarium is fascinating. they should also be doing whale watching expeditions at that time of year.
Aurlene -- if you email me at michelle@michellestyles.co.uk, I will send you a copy of the newsletter with the Eccles cake recipe. They are more like Danish pastries than scones.
I love talking to people about when either they or their parents/grand parents were service. You can learn such interesting things about how systems worked.
Oh and we do have hedgehogs in the garden as well as pheasants and other assorted wild life. They tend to eat the hen and duck food. Plus we run a bird table. Luckily we do not have grey squirrels yet, but they are on the march and I haven't seen a red squirrel recently.
