I'm not sure I can do this in three, but I'll try!!

I'm a big fan of paranormals, and grew up reading the old Silhouette Shadows line (have a whole box of 'em out in the garage).  I was THRILLED to see Nocturne launch.  Why?

    1.  Because Nocturne is sexy and dark -- the type of book I'd like to read on a stormy evening.  Nocturne's take me as a reader on a thrill ride that is worlds away from my average suburban life.

    2.  Because no matter what type of creature they are, we still see humanity and nobility in the heroes and heroines.

    3.  Because Nocturne's alpha heroes are paired with herioines who are NOT wimpy little wusses.  These are memorable heroines who stand up for themselves!

All right, that was my attempt at three.

Now, if you asked me who my favorite Noc authors are, I'd have real trouble confining it to three!!  A quick stab:  Vivi Anna, Rhyannon Byrd, Maureen Child, Michelle Hauf, Caridad Piniero, Linda Howard & the other ladies who did the Raintree continuity.....okay, I clearly can't do that one in three.     Cool

Regards, Celtic  --a fan of things that go bump in the night!!

Hi Trish M. and Olivia Gates,

Could you both please drop me an email about the Nocturne networking coffee at Nationals?  (Booked for 7:30--8:30 a.m. on July 31st).

I need to confirm names/email addies so you can be added to Jayne's Evite -- we don't have you guys as confirmed yet, but you advised on the thread that you were interested in coming.  Trish, I think you're also planning on having your RWA roommate attend?

My email is barbaraconly2003 at yahoo.com

Thank you, and we'll hope to see you both!

    Hi Rae,

I'm home sick today with the flu that has been wending it's way through our household.  Your email made me feel much better!

Many thanks again to you and Ann-Leslie for hosting the pitch contest, and congratulations to my fellow finalists.

HUGE congratulations to everyone who entered, because the creative birth process is pretty terrifying -- and scarier still to send your work out for others to see.  We are all brave to pursue this.  I hope that everyone will go ahead and submit through the regular process -- it's worth it.

Kind regards, Celtic -- who is now going back to sleep!

Thanks for sharing your experience in getting a Noc Bite manuscript to market -- it's very inspiring to the rest of us unpubbed writers.  LOL on the art sheet....I wouldn't have expected that in my wildest publication fantasies.

I agreed with your remarks on the SF short fiction market on the other thread -- it's pretty fantastic that Harlequin is now creating opportunities to break into the romance arena with novellas.

Best wishes, and I'll look forward to reading your Bite when it comes out.  Please keep us posted.

    Christyne,

I opened my Favorites to see 27 new messages in SubCare, and knew something was up!

That's wonderful news for you -- I look forward to reading your book!

    Kind regards, Celtic

Thanks for the heads-up, and hope Ann-Leslie feels better soon!

We've been struggling with summer flu here -- it's terrible being sick during warm weather!    :-(

    Hi Rae,

Given the delay in announcement, do you know whether Ann-Leslie will choose to bump the pitch to Thursday or Friday, or if it will still go as planned tomorrow?

**I'm in a new office....and will need to make special arrangements at work on the off-chance that I'm chosen -- would help to know as soon as possible when the pitch will be.

Thank you, and as always thank you MOST for commiserating with us!      Cool

Good luck to all the finalists as we wait for word!

    Keep breathing!!!

    Hi Bernadette,

Hugs on the R -- but keep focused on Nationals, it will be such a wonderful opportunity!       Cool

    Congratulations to the eight!

While I'm not among you, I had a lot of fun prepping a manuscript for the contest.  Many thanks to Rae and Diana for holding the contest!

Good luck to the eight under consideration, and I encourage everyone who didn't make it to still go ahead and query through the traditional route!    Cool

Glad you're both here and welcome to you!   Cool

Keelia -- RE:  Noc Bites, even though the contest is over, you could still just go ahead and submit your story to the editors -- no need to wait for another contest!

Okay, I'm following Sue's lead now and going offline for the rest of the day -- I'm too hyper and worried about the Bites contest announcement tomorrow, and need to go get some work done and get my mind off of it.
