I just don't have the patience. Besides the fact that the home ec class I took in high school left a really bad taste in my mouth for it. Now cooking...I love to cook. That was the best part of home ec.
Nice to see you, Sam. Best of luck with the Spice Brief. I'll be checking out the snippet!
I would love to take a train anywhere. That sounds so exciting!

That is so scary. Amazing, these kids think they are invincible, don't they?
A friend of mine has a son who just had to have surgery due to staph infection. He took off his shoes and one foot was all swollen and there was a sore on the bottom. They rushed him to the ER and he had surgery the next morning.
Purple is the color of royalty, too!

So exciting about the agent request!
(((Joyce's DIL))) it's so hard to wait!! Argh!
I'd go for the shipping and flying, even though the driving would be so lovely. Donna Alward just made that trip with her family when they moved across Canada.
Prayers for a good decision for your youngest, too, Joyce. That's a tough one. Blech on the inlaws and the rude brother!
Trish, at least it would be a different kind of heat and one with a great view and wonderful friends!

Thoughts and prayers are with you that everything turns out okay! Glad that you had no ill effects from Dolly.
The first thing I heard this morning was the blessed sound of rain. It's been SO hot here for the last couple of weeks-days of triple digit heat index and no rain for about three weeks. Needless to say, the sound and later, the sight of rain was very welcome.

My youngest didn't nurse long, so we didn't have any major problems there or with the bottle. We were lucky.
I hate to hear that about your shoes, Lori. What a bummer. I lost all of my nice shoes twice. There were a few pairs of pumps(for church and funerals) and I had some pretty brown suede flats.
MB, if you're lurking, I emailed you!

Your moms sound like mine, especially the Penneys story, Kay. School clothes and shoes in August that lasted all year. The shoes weren't fit to wear by the next August though, even if they still fit. I'm really hard on shoes.
Barefoot dancing-yep!
LOL on the flaming washer! Dhs are genetically challenged when it comes to sorting, too.
Yay on the bed. Sleigh beds are so pretty! Sounds like a great deal, too. Gotta warn you about the fridge prices though. If you haven't bought one in a while, you're in store for some sticker shock!

JessieBeth-that's a tough one. You've gotten great advice though. Here's a ball bat for those crows of doubt. Just keep going. Everyone's process is different. Some people write by the seat of their pants. Some people outline the entire book or just part of it. You may want to sit down and write three things you want to take place in your book-much like the bullet points that were already mentioned, so that you have a loose outline that will allow for surprises along the way. Keep asking questions and feel free to vent. That's what we're all here for!
MichelleW-he's 8 months old already? Where did the time go?

So sorry to hear about the loan, The financial world is in such a tizzy right now and unfortunately legitimate people like you are being caught up in their knee jerk reaction.
Amy-my mom and I are like that, too. After Hurricane Katrina we drove to my aunt's place in Knoxville, because due to serious health conditions she couldn't stay here. After that trip and the next six weeks with her and my dds, I couldn't wait to get home. I love her, but she pushes my buttons.
Dds started swimming lessons today and really did great. They seemed to enjoy them. Of course, older dd has had them before.

You poor dear!
Don't rush things, MB.
Whew, Kathleen, you are a brave one, aren't you? I've got one yellow lab mix girl and she is a whirlwind. Boundless energy. It's like having a toddler again.

hmm. LOL, Jeannie! You're funny!
Sounds like you had a successful shopping trip, Kay! Your strategy is what I'm using these days and I'm not even going to Nationals.
I would love to be a plotter and know exactly what I was going to write and write it, point a to point b. I just can't do it though. When I was in colllege having to write an essay. I would write the essay in pencil so that I could erase, read it through, make changes, write over it in pen, erase the pencil, and then write the outlne at the end.
