Heat is always relative...113 desert heat is hot but bearable...92 with 80% humidity! Of course, it is always hotter for the person living it, if you know what I mean. I love Arizona...but only to visit. I am a green girl, gotta have trees and at least three seasons! My mom lives in Vegas, and that is fun to visit but again...i miss the trees.
Hang in there...come winter we will be complaining about the cold!

Cyrna, We will be staying close to home because...my son has summer school. Yup the teacher's kid is failing both math and english. Adolescence hit hard this year and he has some growing up to do, so he will be doing some of that this summer...
We are going to go to Oneida NY for the big clam bake that is put on by the Nation every year. That is always fun...and I am thinking about joining a quilting circle. Have the stuff just never had the time. Also laying down wood floors downstairs so we have plenty planned.
thanks for asking...and you my friend? what are you planning?
Auralene...love your sharings. Always learn something new and newsy about your life. Sorry such sad news. Seems as though the older you get, the more of it there is...
Kim, take care of yourself...it is not the new meds is it? There is so much stuff floating around plus this crazy weather! Yesterday was absolutely prime...warm but cool breeze, then it drops to 48 degrees last night!

Did u miss me? It has been so crazy! Grading Social Studies state assessments, giving my own final on Thursday, then grading some more. Finished grades for fourth quarter today. Not happy, that is for sure. Too many of my students decided that school was over for them at the beginning of the quarter. Grades are dismal...not looking forward to the final grades either.
The retirement party was a blast...dancing and lots of silliness. Needed to laugh and dance, got the endorphins flowing...thought I would be sorry for all the excercise but I was only slightly sore...weather has been weird...first all that over the top hot weather...now it is cool but thunderstorms that are brutal. Yesterday we had a tornado go by, torrents of rain, with hail, and thunder and lightning for over an hour...sounded as though it were circling us...
Is everyone ok> all hanging in there and doing well?
Will be on more frequently after this week. Next week is pack up time, clean up, and the class trip to Lake George to Six Flags. We should have fun. Hope we have good weather...

I miss a few days and I am totally lost... can't find the post where i told you all that i had forgot to pay the internet bill so was without all weekend...no posting of challenge for me...then I pay it, post a little ditty and can't find it...THEN look for my story only to find that someone shut off my computer and my story is lost...and it was a cute one...life goes on...
The retirement party was soooo much fun. After I gave my tribute. I was last and soooo stressed out about not doing a good job that I couldn't eat. But afterwards, all was good. They had a great band that played oldies and I knew all the words so danced the evening away!
Looks like lots has been happening. I need to read the entries to catch up this weekend. I have been grading state assessments since last Thursday, we finished them today so i started grading the parts of my final that have been completed. Rest of the test isn't until Thursday so I will be grading all day Friday...reading essays on the Louisiana purchase.
Think I am going to sit out this challenge. i spend so much time teaching about the American Revolution that I don't even want to think about it at all at this time of the year...so if you want, need a judge, I volunteer!
Lou, did u ever get the books?

is it okay to share the story late?

glad to see everyone is surviving...kim so sorry to hear you are in pain. I can relate. Seems as though weather that is too cold or too hot makes my body ache...feet, hips and fingers esp.
missed you all although I have grabbved a few mins to try to stay on top of reading the posts...started finals today...but only half day because of the severe heat. They sent us home at 11:30... took a cooling shower, and then a nap. House too hot for much else but it is getting cooler now...we are under a severe thunderstorm watch until 1 am...possibly large hail and high winds...
boy this weather is something else...makes you wonder how much of the ozone layer is damaged...
well on that cheery note, I will catch you all later. School closes on June 27th but things will slow down at the end of next week.
cheerio all

hey all, been good whie I've been away? They closed school early today because of the severe heat. It was 97 when I left at 11:30...came home. showered to cool down and slept most of the pm away. Much cooler now but they have us under a tornado/severe thunderstorm watch with the possibility of large hail...
poor kids had a tough time taking part of their final...the ones that came.... how's trhe challenges coming? have mine written but still need to do some revision...when is the latest we can post them?
Friday night is the big PPSTA retirement dinner. I have been gathering items for a basket to present to Donna Sue...she is leaving us to travel around Europe. so it has been fun...will def miss her though!
Any news other than cleaning, cooking, and laundry? Those are never ending! the kids are moving out this weekend. We will have a living room again! I am not sure that I remember what that is like...
Catch up with you all soon..

thanks for all the hugs...needed them...will prob just lurk for the next couple of weeks. It is the end of the year for me, and we are in review, have to grade 8th grade state assessments, prepare my 7th graders for their final... give the final, grade the essays, constructed responses, multiple choice, set up and chair a last minute curriculum committee to chose a new textbook to order by end of June, as well as all those other details that go into ending a year!!!!!
So keep me in your prayers, I will return to chat when the dust settles!!!

We are not done until June 27th...this next two weeks are h*** week plus...they aren't sure when they are pulling us to grade 8th grade state assessments so I am completely loopy with angst!!!
my kids think they are done...so not true!!! and we are trying to get a curriculum committee to chose new textbooks for social studies by the end of the month!!!!
Pressure, pressure, pressure!!
Anita, pull up a chair and have one for me...
