    Welcome back!  Smile  Sounds like you're well on your way to hitting your goal real soon!

    Cool on the berries on your property.  We've got lots of Saskatoon berries coming on this year, and a few cherries, but we got rid of the raspberry bushes a couple years ago.  They were so old that they weren't producing any more, so we cut them all down.  A few of them are making a come-back, so maybe we'll have raspberries again in a few years.

    We're going strawberry picking with our dd tomorrow.  Does anyone have a recipe for freezer strawberry jam?

    I bought a new fish for our pond today.  A Koi that looks like Nemo.  So my dgrd's immediately named him Nemo.  They've named the big one Reuben, but haven't named any of the others -- they all look too much alike.  Hopefully by the end of the week we've got the pond up and running and can get them in there.  We've got it dug in now, just need the waterfall finished.

    Thank you, Lorie.  Customer service, you say?  I don't know why, but somehow I didn't even think of asking them.  Guess I could do it myself, now that I know who to ask.  Smile

    So very glad your Mom's doing better!  Tell her all your e-friends said she's to take it easy, before she ends up worse than before. . .  WinkSmile

    Basically Jordanne is right.  A plough wind is a tornado that's not going in circles but is going in a straight line.  They usually do more damage than a tornado because tornados lift off the ground and only touch down here and there, while a plough wind pretty much acts like a plow and mows down everything in it's path.

    A plow is the implement that gets pulled behind a power source, be it horse, tractor, or whatever, in order to make deep furrows in the ground to prepare it for planting a crop of some sort. . .  Tongue outWinkSealed

    Sort of like slew and slough. . .  Sealed

    Kelley, don't be discouraged.  You're doing great.  I've been working on losing weight for 2 1/2 years now, and have lost 30 lbs.  I'd like to lose another 20 to 30 lbs, but I'd even be happy with 10 if that's all I could manage.  As long as I can keep my blood glucose under control, and bring down my cholesterol, I'll be satisfied.

    Bren, yes, you should have come to us for hugs.  Now that you mention it, I think you said something then about putting him down, and that it was a long story, and then just left it at that.  Kind of went right over my head.  {{{{HUGS}}}}

    We had a wicked storm here 2 nights ago.  There was a tornado touch down several miles west of us, and another a few miles south.  Also a little south of us a plough wind took out a whole farm -- house, barn, several sheds, 9 graineries, the whole works.  Luckily no one was home, so there were no injuries, but the place looked like a bomb had gone off there, not 2 sticks of wood left fastened together.  (well, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but not much. . . )

    Today the wind is gusting to 60 kmh, and we're supposed to go to the lake for supper.  I'm thinking not. Frown

    Jordanne, so exactly how far did you drive?

    I think I mentioned that we were going to Moose Jaw on Wed, and also picking up dh's cousin from Germany in Regina that day, too.  Well, we were going on what Oma had told dbil, that her plane was coming in at 2 p.m.  She hadn't given him any other info, so here we are at the airport, with no planes scheduled to arrive then.  Hmmmm.  There was one from Vancouver due at 2:20, and one from Edmonton due at 2:40, and one from Toronto due at 4:35.  Take your pick. . .  We called Oma and she didn't have a clue.  She had no flight number or anything.  I'm the only one who has them on facebook, so my dd ran to our house to boot up my computer and see if she could raise them that way and get more info.  The Vancouver plane came and went, no Maria.  The Edmonton plane came, and (thankfully) there she was!  Almost the last one off, but at least she was there.  We made very sure that they now know they do not call Oma with info any more.  They need to call either us or dbil.  And contact us on facebook.  Then at least more than just an 86 yr old woman will know what's going on.

    Dbil came over this morning with his bobcat and moved us a pile of dirt for the waterfall for our pond.  Wow.  It took him 4 scoopsful, and about 10 minutes!  If we had shovelled it into a wheelbarrow, it would have taken us days, nevermind hours. . .  Now we need some large rocks.

    My scale still says the same.  *sigh*  But I've been getting more exercise.  We've been working on our pond, so I've been shovelling dirt, etc.  And today we had a truckload of split logs delivered which I stacked as dh threw them off the truck.  I also "ran" a mile on my elliptor in 7 minutes.  Whew!  My knee was sore for a whole day after that, but it seems to be okay now.

    I look in the mirror, and it seems like my middle is smaller than it was.  I hope so, as that worries me more than the weight not moving.

    One of dh's cousins from Germany is here right now.  She's staying at dmil's but has spent a lot of time with us and our kids.  She's in town right now shopping, with another cousin.  She'll be here for several more weeks, so we're going to have a couple of family BBQ's for her.  That'll be about 50 people each time.  One will be here, and another probably at dbil's place.

    It must be summer, everyone is outside -- too busy to sit at the computer. . .  Wink

    Glad to hear that I'm not alone in that situation. . .  UndecidedYell

    Bren, so sorry to hear about losing two dogs.  If you mentioned it here, I totally missed it.

    I "ran" a mile yesterday, and now my knee hurts.  I put a tensor on, and it does feel better, but I sure hope I'm not going to have trouble with it all summer now.

    Hi Lorie, I just got some advertising about two summer deals, and before I order them I wanted to make sure I was reading this right.  One is the THOROUGHBRED LEGACY Collection, and the other is the LOVE INSPIRED SUMMER READS Collection.  There's 12 books in one collection, and 9 books in the other collection.  What I want to know is, when I finish getting the 12 and/or 9 books, that's the end of it, right?  They don't keep sending me more books from these lines?

    Not that I have anything against these lines, but I get a bigger discount if I order them through the challenge, and right now, the bigger the discount, the more books I can order. . . Smile  I just got 14 books from the $1.99 page (arrived yesterday) SmileSmile

    I'm trying to be stern with myself, and I'm telling me that I can't read any more books until I've caught up with my blogging.  I don't think it's working.  Frown

    Anyhow, that's what I was wondering.  I don't think they'll send more books than just the collections, but wanted to double-check, just in case I was reading it wrong.

    Hi Latesha, long time no see. . .  Wink

    Bren, another dog?  I've totally lost count of how many that is now -- three?  or four?  You're braver than me. . .

    Bev, I've seen some women walking with some really cool looking canes, covered with flowers, or paisley designs, and they're not real expensive (about $25 at Shoppers, and then it's yours to keep) might a cane help with your balance, or do you need the walker because of the broken toe?  I wish I was close enough to give you real hugs instead of just cyber ones.  {{{{HUGS}}}}

    Grrrrr -- men!  Dh and I had a "discussion" last night.  We were in Regina yesterday, and ate a large meal before coming home.  (we ate at 4:30)  A little early for supper, but not that much.  We walked into the house around 6:30 p.m. and the first thing he said was "what's for supper"  I'm still stuffed from all the fish & chips we'd eaten just 2 hours before that, so I told him he'd had supper, but if he was really hungry I'd make him a snack in about an hour.  So about an hour later I asked if he wanted that snack now, and he said no.  An hour after that I asked again, and again he said no.  Okay, I'm fine with that.  All this time he had been sitting and watching TV while I had been here doing book blogs and chatting.  Then he decides it's time for bed, and he's standing in the doorway to the computer room growling about how many hours a day I "waste" on that d*** computer.  I lost it.  I told him at least I was exercising my brain and my fingers, which was more than what he was doing sitting in front of the idiot tube.  I said from now on every time he sits down in front of the TV I'm going to go to the computer, so if he doesn't want me on the computer, he knows what he has to do.  Needless to say, he went to bed last night with a frown on his face. . .  Sealed  (Hmmm, could be interesting -- 'cause he usually watches the evening news while I'm making supper. . . )

    It's rather cool and rainy here this week, but by next Mon. it's supposed to be back up to 29 again.  We had almost an inch of rain the other day, and as dh says, that's hard on the small potatoes.  Smile

    Many hugs, Lorie! :-) And prayers for your Mom! Please keep us posted as to her recovery. Somehow my smiley faces have disappeared. I got the July code, thank you! :-) Hmmm, just noticed that the page is still loading. That's weird, it's never done that before. I wonder if it will let me post. Anyhow, we're very glad you're back, and hope and pray that your problems are over. Or at least as over as problems can be while still living on good old planet earth. . . ;-)
