okay, I'm still on the fence about Mario ... he named his child Bella, which is what he liked to call Belinda  ... I don't know how I feel about that .... I mean, imagine growing up and learning one day that your father named you after a woman he slept with just after you were conceived?  ... I suppose it all factors into Mario's treatment of the child growing up ..

I do hope we get to understand more about Mario and the past ... I understand that his passion with Belinda was very strong .. but he did the deed with her when he knew there was a chance another woman was preggers with his baby ..... I still can't get my head around that ... and I wonder if Belinda knew before too ....... if so ick on her too!

ROFL ... each chapter has it's own cliffhanger!  ... so naughty of you Alison!  Wink

so he did marry the woman and there had been a child

you know I can see how this can happen if the two people don't know enough about each other ... esp. their full names as in Belinda's case ..... I was thinking earlier that once she found out she could have tracked him through the Italian medical boards, she knew "Mario" was in a certain city and at certain time, and that he was a doctor, and she knew a physical description  ... that would have been a start  .... and hah! ... Alison!  did you make a boo boo?   .... Belinda read in the paper about the model .... doh, she could have tracked Mario through the model!

I'm wondering how Belinda's mother faired ... how ill she was and how this may have contributed in Belinda's delay in trying to find Mario .... and as time passes, it was just easier not to find him

I'm never fond of the woman keeping babies secret unless there is very good reason to withhold the info ... like fear for the child or fear for herself ..

I was also thinking what a cad Mario is to have slept with Belinda knowing he might be the father of another woman's unborn child .... that was really bad of him  ... but now we learn their passion got away from them .. so hmmm, I'm still on the fence when it comes to Mario

this is another great online read!

the link on the online read page takes us to the Forum main page and not directly to the discussion thread  .... it was that way with Bronwyn's read too

it seems better now but I'm finding that openning blogs and/or discussions that have quite a few posts are taking longer to open .... plus as I add to My Favourites, that list is getting large and it's taking longer for the site to sort through what is mine and provide the list

as mentioned I'm using IE7 .... I have broadband internet so connection speed is not an issue .... and I'm not having this problem with any other site

as I mentioned, while this site is assembling the page/s that I've clicked on, it sort of hangs there (freezes) and this actually freezes up the web browser so I can't even use another tab or window to keep surfing ... very frustrating

though it is better now than it was an hour ago!  :D

as you know when we click on the "new posts" from our Favourites or Recent posts it takes us to the very first post on discussions with more than 50 posts   ....... however, when we click on "new posts" from the Forums we are taken to the "new" post    ........ so if it's possible to open the folders on the forum main pages, it would be great ... I'll just bookmark the forum main pages that I frequent and get in that way  ....

btw, ... it seems rather odd that we can get to the "new" post through the forums but we can't from My favourites and Recent posts ..... you'd think if it worked in one area, it would work in another

and I do have the discussions I follow in My favourites .... I use that tool to tell me where the new post are .... but I have another window open to get to that new post through the forums ....... because if the discussion has several new posts and you go in through recent posts or favourites, the new posts will lose their "red new"  .... but if you go in via the forums as I mentioned, we still have the "red new" to tell us where to start reading  ..... I know confusing!  LOL

but this really does need attention .... I think the forums are suffering because people don't even know the discussions are here ...... like you said good for the oldies but not for the newbies .... and actually, I've noticed several of the oldies don't have a clue the discussions are here either and they end up openning a blog to ask a question that could have easily been answered in a discussion and wouldn't get lost in all the traffic in the blogs

question .... can you "anchor" a blog entry so that it always stays at the top of the "recent posts"? ... because if so, perhaps anchoring your newest Welcome to the Community entry would ensure more people read it ...... and the perhaps each Hostie could have an anchored blog entry that tells members about the forums and discussions that they are involved in and a brief blurb of what those discussions cover  ..... if they're anchored new members will always see them and may seek out the areas that haven't really discovered yet

also, perhaps anchored blog entries could be restricted so that comments can't be made .... this way if a member has a comment, they have to go to the forum discussion ....

    just thinking!

    Hi Jayne

Are the techs doing some site maintenance this morning?  ..... it's taking forever for the site to open new pages .... it's almost like the sites freezing up  ... in fact, it does freeze up my web browser until it finds the page its looking for  ..... I'm using IE7

I've checked other sites and not a problem ... just with this one   .... very frustrating!

    I was right .... lots of angst  :D    .... I love angst  :D

Alison tied up Belinda's story quite nicely ... we know why she couldn't wait ... why she even doubted she should be there at all to meet him ... and we're told that her mother's condition was extremely grave so any loving daughter wouldn't have waited for a one time lover who had other commitments ...  but did she try to find him once she found out she was preggers?   ... surely she knew enough about him even without his last name ?

great twist ....  hehehe, yes indeed .. Mario just walked into a brick wall!

    Hi Eleanor!

I think that not seeing me here is a bit of a good thing, it means that there are fewer problems to fix ;)

Yes, indeed ... I agree this is a good thing :)   ... in fact, I wanted to ask you what's the best way to thank Customer Service ... I'd been having a issue with bookstore orders going missing or extremely delayed by Canada Post ... in fact, about three of my orders this past winter had to be reshipped .... I've noticed that the last four shipments had been upgraded to expedited at no extra cost to me ... and it's been wonderful to have my books arrive when they should  ... can you pass on my gratitude?

As far as news to share....um....only that I won't be around for a little while come July since I'll be going on maternity leave

now that is the kind of news I like to hear!  .... Congratulations!  ... is this your first?   .... ah, a summer baby ... I do hope the darling bundle arrives before we hit a Southern Ontario heat wave!   ... well, I have to mark my Calendar to keep dibs on you!    .... are you having a little hero or a little heroine?  .. or have you opted for a surprise?  .... gee, just call me nosey!  ;)

wishing you all the best (((Eleanor))) .. and I'm keeping you and the babe in my prayers

well, Mario's not such a typical ***** male as he seems quite ready to listen to her side   ........  "But he knew what it meant to be polite. He would give her the chance to say what she wanted to say. "    .......  gotta love a man who knows what he thinks he knows  .... glad to see Belinda has some backbone   ;)

Alison, if you're out there ..... great start to this story! .... I love how you've packed so much into so few words ... I can feel all that angst!  ....

I'm Eastern Time .... I live about 45 min. north of Toronto in Ontario ...... so Christa, Lorie and I are all in the same time zone  ........

Texas is Central time, right?   ... I think it's so cool that we can set the time zone in our Profile pages so the site always reflects the time where we live ..... that's one of the nice changes here

I have friends all over the US .... I had two dear one that live in Texas, both gone now to Lupus .... I have a cousin that lives near San Antone  ... she loves it there
