My Recent Comments

So sorry all I haven't gotten to talk to you in a while.  Both my sons, dh, and myself have been very ill.  Still getting over it as we speak.  Yes, did you notice I said sons not stepsons... things have finally come together.  I have my family here in my house!  The oldest dss told me last night that he hated me.... and that he never liked me... I went and tickled his lil but and said oh yeah.. that is just because you can't tickle me back.  It wasn't five minutes before he apologized adn told me just how much he loved me.  He was just angry cause he didn't get to do what he wanted.  I think I am really starting to get the hang of this mommy thing.  My oldest even told his own mom teh other day wehn she blew their visit off again that is was said I his granny and I seemed to care more about him than she did.  She was so angry.  He told her if she kept this up he was threw with her.  So I think he is starting to things for the way they really are.  Thank you all for the support and kind words as it took me time to adjust to all this.  Having great friends like you all has meant and still means a GREAT DEAL!!!  THANK YOU just can't say it all!

As for everyone posts I read this page, but I am so behind.  I confess I may just start back from here and not go read the rest.  So hugs to all that need them and kind thoughts as well.

Kay, OH MY GOODNESS!  Is all I can say.  I hope things work out, and it isn't as bad as you fear.  At least you have the weight loss to brighten your day.  Congrats by the way.

Sam, ss to hear about the supers r's I was really looking forward to reading a super by you.  I agree with your thoughts though if it is meant to be it will.  I really admire you.  You seem to really have such an insight on things that is inspires me.

Ronda, I see your oldest son, which I might add is just as adorable as the younger one. 

I don't remember who said it, but I know what you mean about having to watch children constantly.  My stepsons are 8 and 10, and I have to watch them all the time.  If I don't I will either be one short, or not have a house left.  Send me a drink.. as I sit and wonder what age they grow out of this.

As for characters names I have numberous websites marked that tell the origin of the name, the popularity of it, and I used to have a site marked that told character traits of certain names.  In one of my WIP the names are Allana (Lanie), Sophie (the lil gir), and yes Jake! In my other WIp the names are Alexis (Lexi), and Ryan.  The thing I find hard is last names.  How do you all come up with last names?  Do you all put into account heritage, or nationality?  I am sure those play a role, but how much time and effort do you spend on it?

 

Hope all is doing well.  Kay, as for locks of love I did it a year and a half ago.  I went to the stylist and she cut it off and sent it in for me.  My mom is a cancer survivor though and has gotten a wig from them, so I might be able to find out more info. if you can't find a stylist in your area to send it off for you.

Vieve, you made such a great point.  I didn't think about them being to drunk for bada bing....

I plan on setting down and doing the pars I know will work then filling in and changing the rest as I go.  Your suggestions have been greatly appreciated.  My big problem is trusting myself.  That is one reason i am looking into getting a crit partner again.  I had tried before but then everything came up and complicated things.  I just now feel like I can settle down and write again. Hopefully i will find someone to bounce ideas off of.

Okay all time once again for me to pick your brains...

I have been working on my recent wip, and have developed several questions.  Any help or answers will be greatly appreciated.

 #1 How long do you think the Hero and Herione can go without meeting.. and a good romance still be constructed?

#2 Do you think a man who sleeps with a woman's best friend... (without realyzing it til later) can be a hero?  I know that is a hard question without knowing the whole story, but I really don't want to make it personally about my story.  Let's just use an example that the guy was dunk went into the bedroom his woman was supposed to be in.. had sex with the woman there... who was drunk.. and they woke up and realyzed what had happened the next day.  This was years before he meets with the woman who was supposed to have been in the room... again.  Causing some trust issues and such.. (I know! I'm sorry I'm trying not to get to specific, but hard to do.)

 

#3 How do you know if you are trying to put to many elements together?  I have a very complex story... all of it can work... I know that... but being a less experienced author I am worried.. that I might loose the reader or put to much on them... Do I just go ahead and do it... then see where it goes or what?

 

Like I said a lot of questions.. but things I am wondering and trying to think through.  I am about 1/2 way through the Writing Romane for Dummies book as well.  Thank you Sam for suggesting it.  It is a great book!  Even though my 10 year old stepson said the title fit me ... Still owe him one for that!

Ami, way to go on the house. I am so happy for you. My dh and I can’t wait to have a big house. We currently live in a mobile home, and are going to build rooms on to it. Hopefully the future will be kind and grant our dreams of a house though.

Kay Thank you for the hugs on the drama. Dealing with the boys and their mom is going to be hard for a long time to come, but as time is going it is getting easier! The oldest has finally stopped hitting when he gets angry. That is a start at least!

Ronda ((Hugs))) on your mom. I know it must be very difficult for you. My husbands grandmother (who he lived with for a long time, and was pretty much his mom) passed away almost 6 years ago. We still reminisce about her!

Thank you for the kind words about my college squad, but truthfully looking back I could care less. It angered me at the time, because I thought I was being discriminated against.

To all those with kids…. I know what you mean! We recently had the kissing and sex talk with the 10 year old. We were going to wait, but some students found condoms

(used) on the playground at his school. Knowing this we figured we better go ahead and talk to him. Thank heaves right now though he is not interested in girls at all, which is funny because his 8 year old brother already has a girlfriend. Go figure!

Sam, when you mentioned villain I also thought of the guy from House. What does that say about us ladies?

Thank you all for the warm wishes for my Dh and myself on feeling better!  Knock on wood we are some! 

On a side note... The boys mom had been wanting themm to come and see her again.  Despite the fact she is still living with the boyfriend who choked my eldest Dss.  Well they said no, so now she moved back in with her husband.  The Drama continues!! She was even hinting to wanting the boy's bunkbeds and things back.  She had bought them a Sponge Bob shower curtain, adn she just came and picked it back up.  She said they were broke adn didn't have hardly anything.  She couldn't afford to buy a new shower curtain, but she could afford the gas to drive over 30 minutes away to pick this one up.  I just don't understand some things.  I promise I will have enough material for a soap opera before this is finished!  Okay... Enough ranting.. back to your regularyly scheduled male drooling.....  Ellen, I wanna know is he a double agent?  Is that his secret?
