Thanks so much Michelle
, Carol
and Nell
. Your hugs and faith in me mean a lot. I missed coming in here a few weeks ago, as I was desperately trying to get my other ms ready to go at the same time as despairing about being "close" again..

Thanks Robbie. Now that I can bring myself to peer at the e-mail, I'm treasuring all the lovely things they said. But mostly I'm taking onboard why it didn't quite come off for them. One of the major reasons, the ed had pointed out in my previous rejection letter and she probably felt like beating me over the head with this ms. But I now see what she means
.
Fingers crossed, Lis.

Thanks Jamie, Chris, Betty, Jennifer, SueB, Steph,
Stacy, Ami, Ronda, Christyne, Kathleen, Melissa, and Lis.
Lis, commiserations, my #3 ms went through 2 lots of revisions for Presents, too, and that R was probably the hardest to deal with.
I guess I'm someone who has to learn things the hard way
. There's a whole list of things I won't attempt again... Lol. I'm really excited about the one I've just subbed. I don't think it suffers from the same mistakes, writing it felt *different*; more instinctive somehow and I had fun with it <g> which is something I think I lost for a while.

((((Bernadette))))
CHRISTYNE!!!! That's fantastic news.

Will go look for your party thread because I want to know all the details!
I'm picking up a platinum mourning ring for my Presents full that was rejected a couple of weeks ago
Trying to look on the bright side, the ed said I'm very close (still
), and my writing has real potential, and she has every faith in me. So I'm trying to hang on to that and work on two major things she pointed out.
Oh, and I also get to pick up a purple heart and medal of bravery for sending in another full, requested from the Instant Seduction comp, last week.

Hooray, Allison, that's brilliant news! I've been wondering. And thanks for the congrats on the full requested from the instant seduction comp.
Congrats on having your Victorian accepted, Michelle W!
Betty, thank you again for the congrats.

Thanks, Kate, yes that's exactly it. When I asked him if he was thrilled he said more like relieved. Good luck with the move and hooray on getting the children into the best school for them.
Sue - off to write

Yes, it's much less stressful knowing this is something he really wants to do. He nearly went to uni last year, but wasn't totally convinced about which course or where he wanted to go with his art. So he's spent the past year doing a foundation diploma and getting a better grounding. It was absolutely the right decision. His lecturers have really helped him identify his strengths and put together a strong portfolio. Sorry about the too-much-information <g>

And thanks for asking about the writing
. I'm excited about this ms and hope that shows through in my writing. It's starting to feel like everything I've learned is coming together and it's more instinctive somehow. Although I could just be too close to the ms to tell <g> Good luck with yours--I'm glad your characters told you which story you should be working on.
that it happened in the middle of a meeting

flying visit
Yay on meeting your deadline, Yvonne
and hugs, congrats, welcomes and welcome backs to everyone who needs them.
Been a bit distracted, my eldest had his uni interview last week. And we just heard yesterday that he's got in at his first choice to do his BA in 3D Design and the offer's unconditional. Phew.He wants this so much and I can breathe again now and better still write. Btw, his sister's got designs (no pun intended) on his room
Excuse the proud-parent moment.
