Jules, sending out major good vibes... I know the editor will love your full!
And Melissa, too funny! But obviously, even though you gave up on publishing, it wasn't ready to give up on you? :) Good luck with it!

nell, major hugs... and a thank you for displaying a positive attitude that inspires many here, myself included. Getting published is a rough ride... but I firmly believe that hard-won victories are the sweetest.
Take care :)

Thanks for the hugs everyone. Always great to feel the love :)
OK, enough's enough. Time for a sale!

Way to go Sue! That's great news.
And big hugs to Mel, although I know she's a super trooper (he he!) and will continue to persevere.
I feel so truant -- nothing for roll call except a bunch of queries to agents. I'm about to send a partial to Historicals and working on submissions to a couple of contests.
I did, though, receive two Rs for STs I queried to HQN eighteen months and a year ago, respectively. So much time had passed that it seriously didn't bother me. I thought, "Hunh? What's this? Oh yeah, forgot about these...." :)

Ronda, I don't think I can think of many comments I'd like to hear more than "you got the internal confllct right." That's the hardest part!!!! So good for you, that's fabulous, regardless of the R.
Melissa, good luck! Fingers crossed for you!!!!

Now I remember why I continue to come to Sub Care (not that I ever really forgot). You women are wonderful :) Thanks so much for the kind words, hugs, and nuggets of wisdom. You're fabulous.
Good news is there are many more fish in the sea, and I'm working on a new book. So nanner-nanner to that agent. I hope I too, like Julie, will one day have the upper hand!

Thanks for the hugs :)
Quite surprisingly, this behaviour was from a well-known, very reputable agent. Guess she's very, very busy!

hey Jules... yes, still working on the historical and a contemporary too.
I got the weirdest R from an agent. She didn't bother sending a letter back... simply took my query letter, underlined part of my description that referred to my heroines as being UK-based and then wrote in red marker on the top of the page "Too difficult to sell in the US market. Have to pass."
I know agents are busy, but isn't this the height of laziness?? And since when are US agents restricted to US audiences? There are UK publishers out there too!
Ok, rant over :)
- 03/20/2008 - 07:52Jules, so sorry to hear that. Poo! But I know you'll keep forging ahead... fingers crossed for your other subs!
