After mysteriously being unable to access Subcare for at least a couple of months, suddenly it has popped up unexpectedly. Duh?

So a big 'hi' to everyone, hugs for R's, pats on the back for successes I know nothing about, (because I really can't go back and read everything since February) and I just hope I can get back here again on a regular basis.

No news from me. An R for something that I wasn't too hopeful about, two other partials submitted as a result of contest feedback telling me I was aiming at the wrong line, and four requested synopses finally gone to Richmond "to see if we can get you going on something suitable".

    Wouldn't that be nice!

    Cheers,

    Kris.

My, you're flying, Bernadette Marie!  Oh for such luck.  I'm on my final chapter and it's gone sticky on me.  Right now I'd count six pages a major miracle - but I do write 'finished' and not 'first draft'.

    Nice to see everyone again.

    Cheers,

    Kris.

Have I done something wrong or have I managed to be first in the new Sub Care?

Congratulations Lauren - that's great.  And good luck, Lisa.  May the time pass fast!

Thanks for the contest encouragement Robbie - still hanging in there.  The book's long enough but it's not finished.  It'll be a race to the wire.

And speaking of contests - only 600 entries worldwide for the Instant Seduction.  Wouldn't you think more people would have taken advantage of such an opportunity???

    Cheers,

    Kris.

Thanks for all your birthday wishes. I'll be brave now and say it was my 60th.  Kind of a landmark, huh?

Best wishes to everyone with submissions/revisions etc.  I got two turn-downs for short stories this week, but I'll try them elsewhere and they'll hopefully find a home eventually.

Looks like I'll make the contest deadline for the full novel if I just keep slogging.  A week to go.  Black moment approaching fast.  Then to print 3 copies and get it in the post....

    Cheers,

    Kris.

Thanks, Chelle.  Yes - and I was allowed the whole day to write - it couldn't have been nicer.

Hello everyone.  Having got myself all set up on the new system (I thought)  I found I was suddenly receiving no weekly newsletters for the last month or so.  We'll see if they start again now.

Anyway, heaps of messages to catch up on, so hugs to Lonie on the R, congrats to Lovingu and anyone else who deserves any.  I sent my entry off for the Instant Seduction Competition yesterday - my birthday, in case it brought any luck!

    Cheers,

    Kris.

Hope we hear good news here soon, Nell and Carol.

Glorious weather in New Zealand - it's hard to sit and write. The book I was struggling with is still giving me hell, but it's NOT GOING TO GET THE BETTER OF ME!!!  Deadline for the contest is the end of this month, and there's still too far to go to reach the end.....

    Cheers,

    Kris.

I've popped in for a Friday night treat to see what's been happening.

Lauren, Michelle and Cindy - sorry to hear about the Rs,

Well done Lauren on the novella.

Thanks for all your encouragement with my current book - I'm slogging away here (better some days than others).

And Natalie - I'll blame you if I don't get much done tonight because I found 'Bedded by Arrangement' on the local supermarket display and of course couldn't resist. I'll be reading until 1 am and bleary-eyed tomorrow.

    Cheers,

    Kris.

Hi everyone. I'm bottom-down eyes-forward, determined to finish a whole novel in time for a Feb 29 deadline. (This is New Zealand's Clendon Award Competition.) I've managed fourth twice, but I'd really love to crack the top three.

So..... haven't visited subcare for a couple of weeks, and I've just read every single message since I was last here. Hugs to everyone who got R's, big congratulations to all you clever things who didn't, and I'll see you all later. I start full-time work again tomorrow, and I'm not quite half-way through writing this book so it's going to be something of a challenge.

    Cheers,

    Kris.
