- Thanks Wayne for letting everyone know07/11/2008 - 09:53
about the Park Avenue Scandals continuity. Book three is my first Desire continuity book and it was fun being given a story and characters to work with. I really enjoyed making up my own country--wish I was there right now, in fact ::sigh:: I just managed to upload the cover as my avatar--took a while before I could get it so that my hunky Mediterranean prince wasn't headless
One of these days I'll figure out how to do this stuff and actually REMEMBER it for next time.
Hi Misty! Good to see you again and glad you're still here. Hope you get more time to hang out in future.
Good luck to everyone who entered the pitch contest! As I remind everyone ad nauseam, I sold as a result of one of those. And in fact it was the second one I participated in, so if at first you don't succeed--well, you know. And I know Bren already knows
Oh, and there's another continuity coming in the latter part of 2009. I only know this since I'm book #5
Since Wayne's showing such discretion maybe I'd better say no more for now...

And congrats on your sales. I'm a fairly new author too--my first book was out last July
Congrats to Ola on your success with your first Desires. You must be thrilled!
Yvonne, I just finished my first trilogy and it was a really interesting experience coming up with three different stories (and heroes) that I was really excited to write, then having to WAIT to write the second, and then the third. I found myself "cheating" on my first hero by dreaming about the ones to come. It was weird, but fun. They are all so different too. I'll be curious to hear who people like best, but I'll have to wait until spring 2009
The whole trilogy experience takes a lot of patience!

Thanks for the kind words about my new series. I'm having a lot of fun with it. I didn't travel to Argentina but I really want to! I got the idea from a friend of mine whose family is from the Mendoza wine country. She was talking about buying a vineyard there with her siblings, and I started thinking about wine, and the tango and hot men and.... well, you get the picture. Tragically they still haven't bought a vineyard for me to go visit, but I've been drinking a lot of Argentine wine to make sure my descriptions are authentic
Bren, I'm glad your mother is doing okay. Hope she continues to be her fiesty self for a long time to come.
Ola, the website is gorgeous! Those men are quite inspirational :::fans self::: and it loaded just fine for me. I love the way the colors work with the book cover. Congrats on the top pick!!
Hope everyone's week is off to a good start...

Actually I have been busy ::pants:: I just finished a book set in Argentina (oh boy is that a seriously gorgeous and very cool country...) that will be the second in a three book series, and I've started a new one set in New Orleans, which will be the third. Writing a three book series is a bit like running a marathon. You pause for a quick cup of water (or chocolate, as the case may be), then on to the next book!
I also wrote the Park Avenue Scandals continuity in the middle of the three books
::gasps for breath::
I have to say I LOVE this kind of busy. How about you?

Whenever I see mine I fight the urge to buy them all to make sure they go to good homes. I've never actually bought one, but now that I know I wouldn't be alone, it will be that much harder to resist
Jules I'm glad Maddie is doing better and that you are getting some downtime to write (I'm also mega impressed that you're even thinking about writing!).
I'm ready for spring!! (Yes, I know it technically is spring, so why is everything frozen solid???)

I think it's great to send the next thing out as soon as possible so you can start the whole adrenaline pumping, nail-biting wait again

And welcome to the Desirables. As you can tell, we're a little strange. But loveable
