Was thinking about your request for updates, and I think what I'll do is post re enhancements/upgrades etc in the Tire Kicking folder on the boards when we have anything new to report. We have some added functionality to be installed on the book detail pages in June/July in the form of an RSS feed which will push book review comments to the book detail pages in the eHarlequin.com bookstore. Now this is scheduled to go in June/July but I haven't heard anything concrete for a couple of weeks. But it will be VERY exciting to see. Also at that time is when we should be seeing the master list of community members displaying on the site....I'm just figuring out the perfect spot for this and the format eg drop down list is my preference.

I'm not experiencing any trouble, are you talking about the main site? It could be that your're trying to access pages while the techs are doing a push of content (to correct issues and boo boos eg the fact that our discussions links on the online read pages were overlooked this month) in which case it's a GOOD sign
I'll go and look!

All this time it was because I thought she had Web TV??? Now WHERE did I dream that up?

Well, there are two schools of thought on this, one is that we train people to look inside the folders for discussions and then favorite those which they want to keep tabs on. That will display the NEW messaging, but that assumes that users know to look inside the folders in the first place. Great for old timers, but potentially confusing for newbies. Also not to pleasing to the eye, because it'll be SUCH a huge list.....which can be confusing for newbies who can potentially be overwhelmed by the sheer volume of it.
But for YOU, I'll take a look at the heirarchy and structure to see if I can figure out some sort of compromise.

Hi Gloria,
The Nascar books for May should be up now, there was an error in this month's upload.
Amo Skrib'masino, I want you to try something, can you click on Online Account Info and go in to Update Your Personal Information, you may or may not be asked to login again. Once you're there, you should be able to fix the way your name displays by following updating the Community ID field in the membership information page. Let me know if that works for you, K?

Sorry about the missing links to the discussions from the online read pages. We've had a staff rotation and the new person responsible for that area, just isn't quite up to speed yet. I've alerted the team regarding the omission and we should be getting back into the swing of things with a direct link to all online read discussions from the online read pages.

Don't think it will be fixed Papaya. They paid big bucks to have it designed this way. No thought for the users.
I'm just stepping in to respond to Little Annie's opinion that our community was purposefully designed without consideration of the needs of it's users. I don't feel it's a fair comment, but I'm not going to get into a shouting match over it, she is after all entitled to her opinion in as much as I have a right to defend the choice of this platform for our users.
I just want to say for the record that our users needs were our very first consideration when this build was conceived and constructed. We are aware that the percieved *glitch* in the way the messages display is not optimal, and that the structure of this platform is different from our old community boards. But the benefits of this community platform outweigh by far the short term pain of our adapting to it. We will respond to the messaging display/order in the next go round of upgrades. I just don't have a timing on that and I'm not trying to dodge the issue. It's just not something that is going to happen in a matter of weeks, and the fact that there is a perception that this will be addressed shortly is simply that....a misunderstanding.

Papaya, they seem to have left off the link to the discussion from the story page this time around. I reminded them yesterday and hopefully it will be back up today.

Tammy go ahead and cancel the request. The worst that will happen is that you'll cancel the friendship, but then you can just request it again.
