Liz, the video made me blub too.  is it just me, or has anyone else become unbearably soppy since they started writing romance?  I was bad before, but now everything sets me off...  Sometimes I wonder why I ever bother with mascara.

Donna, how big are those bags of flour?!!!  That does seem expensive for the size of bag I keep in my kitchen cupboard.

(Still trying to find the recipe...)

Yes, that was me!  It still is, actually.  (pinches self)  Ow.  Yes, I'm definitely here.

Looking forward to AMBA, Michelle!  Especially with the new venue.  I had another look on the website and it looks fab.  Are you going to be skulking around at some point, Biddy?  (Ducks to avoid slap).

I'll go and dig out the recipe.  I just did my grocery shopping and decided on the spur of the moment, I'm going to have to cook it this weekend too.

Hi folks!  I've been a virtual hermit all summer (apart from my brief outing to the RNA conference).  My body is still complaining when I sit at a computer for too long, so I had to cut my internet time down - and I've missed the chat here!

Things are starting to improve again, so I'm hoping I will be a little more sociable in the coming weeks.

Ooh, yes!  I love my slowcooker.  I got three for wedding presents and kept two.  One is still going after 19 years!  And I've missed soups and casseroles over the summer.  Must get mine out the cupboard and start finding all my favourite recipes...

Have a fabulous recipe for a lamb stew with wine, parsnips and carrots that has little low fat dumplings in it.  Don't even have to cook potatoes to go with it!

I don't think I'm in any danger of post-stress collapse, because I can't slow down!  Totally reorganised my filing cabinet and cleaned my bedroom (which has the desk in the conrner - sooooo jelaous of your new office, Donna!).

And even when I'm not conscious I don't seem to be able to stop.  My brain kept dreaming up whole new sections to my book last night and I kept waking up feeling all disoriented.  I'd gently reminde myself that I didn't need to 'write' in my sleep, that it was all done, but every time I went back to sleep, I started all over again!

Destressing by watching my Daily Mail special offer M&B DVDs while I potter around tidying.  Haven't graduated to actually sitting still yet, but it will come.  I hope.

    ;-)

I should find a roomie this time, if I go to DC.  Makes the whole thing so much cheaper.

Hi everyone!  I disappeared to overhaul a book.  I just rewrote must of it.  32K in 8 days (not including the bits I wrote and cut out).  I didn't think it was humanly possible, but I survived.  Just.

Not going to nationals this year, but thinking about next year.

That was a great article, Donna!

Hope you get settled into your new house quickly.  I hate that feeling of everything being off kilter, so I can really sympathise.

I did get a free CD with my DVD - I think it's based on MH's book on writing screenplays.  Haven't listened to that one yet.  I'm a complete structure junkie, so I find it all fascinating.

Yeah, stress is definitely a factor, Liz, but the osteopath told my the top section of my back was completely locked up and this is posture-related and had taken a long time to build up.  Still, great improvement after a few treatments and I'm learning to sit properly.

I have a little wedge-shaped cushion which I sit on now - it's fab, because sitting on a slight forward tilt puts your spine in it's natural position (rather than hunched or curved over the keyboard!).  All my symptoms - neck, back, wrists, elbow - have improved since I've been using it.

Michael Hauge's website is here.  There are articles as well as CDs and DVDs to buy.  The one I have is "The Hero's Two Journeys"  - which I may be persauded to lend out once I've finished with it.  It cost me about £25 plus £7ish for postage. I'm currently watching an in-depth analysis of "Erin Brockocich", which is really intersting.

Finally, the book is in, and the osteopath is making a new woman of me!  In other words, the neck and back have calmed down enough for me to use my puter to be socialble rather than just for boring old work.

I'm coming to the conference too, so I will see lots of you there.  I'm really looking forward to it after missing last year's.
