Hi everyone. It's been a blast checking in the all of you this week.,sharing stories and info about LIH.  Though this is the end of my designated week, I'll be sure to check in periodically through the next few weeks, up until the official launch.

    Blessings, Melissa

Janet-your cover IS flirty and fun. I think you'll really like it. And Linda--your covers are so emotional, just like your editorial.

See? We really do try to match the insides to the outsides! ok, ok, it doesn't ALWAYS work, but we try our best.

Val, as far as I know, LIH will be getting the same distribution as LI and LIS. And the LI's are in Walmarts, aren't they?

    Hi Janet,

Gee, thanks for sending the rain our way. Boo!

The Courting Miss Adelaide cover came out great! It's basically a young woman in a large beautiful hat that is tilted downward a bit, and partially covers one of her eyes. Hope you (and everyone else!) likes it.

I'm not that tech savvy, or else I'd attach it here for all to see. Sorry guys!

Good morning, everyone. It's a rainy Friday morning in New York, and I wish I could go back under the covers, but I'm here at the office, working hard on LIH books!

The covers for the Love Inspired Historical line are turning out really really beautiful! The Palmer and Hart covers are just the tip of the iceberg! We're trying for a variety of looks. Some of our books will feature landscapes (like Valerie Hansen's Frontier Courtship), some with heroine or hero alone (see Sara Mitchell or Elaine Barbieri's covers). Some will have children on them (Dorothy Clark's Family of the Heart features the sweetest little girl in a pinafore dress!)

Deborah Peterson is our art person, and she's done a wonderful job on our covers. Our gorgeous books wouldn't be the same without her. Thanks, Deb!

    Hi all,

Many apologies for not posting yesterday. I work at home on Wednesdays, and my home computer is from the dark ages. I couldn't log on or post to the site. Argh.....

Anyhoo, thanks for all your suggestions about settings and periods you guys want to see in LIH. I'm definitely taking them into consideration. The way I see it, variety is the key to this line. Giving readers different windows to differents eras. I have seen many projects set in exotic locations, Regency set stories, biblical fiction, etc. Just because I've said no to some doesn't mean I'll say no to your projects! Laughing

I've always been interested in history and historical fiction, since I was little. One of my fondest memories is of a report I had to write in 6th grade on a book turned into a movie. I chose Gone With the Wind, read the whole thing, did a report, and even drew the Confederate flag on the cover. Think I got an A+ on it. Seems like divine providence I'm working on the LIH line, no?

Love the new site! I was wondering when they were going to put it up. Very cool......

Ok, more on the wonderful world of LIH. Here's a preview of the first 3 months of LI Historical books. As most of you know, Feb is the launch month, and we have Jill Hart and Cathy Palmer's books. Then in  March, we feature Hideaway Home by Hannah Alexander, a WWII romance, sort of a historical prequel to their Hideaway series of books; and Frontier Courtship, an amazing wagon train Western romance by the lovely and talented Val Hansen.

Then in April, comes Sara Mitchell, Christy-award finalist, and her historical romance mystery, Legacy of Secrets. And then Hearts in the Highlands by Ruth Axtell Morren, set in Victorian England and Scotland.  I can tell you, there's something for everyone in LIH. Kiss

I have a question for you all. Are there any settings or time periods you HAVEN"T seen, that you would like to see? I'm dying to see some Regencies or English-set stories. The ones I've read haven't really knocked my socks off.
