Well, Jane, I could bore for England on the subject of my favourite heroes. But a great big yes to Gerard Butler, loved him especially in Dear Frankie - there's just something about all that raw, Scottish taciturnity that gets me every time - and of course PS I Love You. Saw Hugh Jackman recently in Kate and Leopold (after reading Kate Walker's blog on the Pink Heart Society) and he's another big yes. But I have to admit I'm also quite partial to George Clooney. And did someone say Daniel Craig?? Now we're talking.

And my favourite category romance hero? Has to be Linda Howard's Joe 'Breed' MacKenzie but Nora Roberts's Rafe MacKade isn't far behind.

I have to admit I'm a real sucker for wounded heroes too. Guys who are tough and taciturn and provocative, but underneath it all is a tenderness that my heroine's going to uncover and understand.  Gosh, this is a hard job isn't it?

Hi Lee and Jane and Nicola

As one of the 'newer authors' like Nic to the Presents line I just wanted to put Lee's mind at rest a little and say that we totally understand that Presents books should deliver a read of high emotional intensity with an engaging, exciting and deliciously Alpha hero — something Jane and all the classic Presents authors do so well.

Our heroes might be a bit younger (late 20s, early 30s, mind you, not teenagers!) but they've still got to deliver on that essential Presents promise. That's certainly what we're striving for.

    Hope that helps.

     Regards Heidi

Cheers for the congrats, I'm thrilled to bits — and to final with Kelly and Natasha is the icing on the cake — or is that the ears on the Chocolate Easter Bunny? Oh no, sorry, looks like my two pesky kids have already eaten all those.

Sorry, just had to pipe in here with how much I love biscuits and sausage and gravy for breakfast with homefries and even grits! One of the reasons I have to leave hubby and kids behind every couple of years and tour the States with my best mate - so I can pig out on all that delicious cuisine. And don't even get me started on Mexican food, or Soul food. (There used to be this fantastic diner in Houston Texas called This Is It that served ham hocks and collard greens and candied yams - just thinking about it is making my tastebuds twinkle.) Given the portion sizes they serve over there we only ever manage one meal a day - but we still come back several pounds heavier. I'm still fighting off the flab from our trip to California last October!

What's all this got to do with Kate's Romance Prize? Well, now I've been thinking of all that lovely, jubbly food I'm going to have to pop up to our local italian deli after taking my youngest pesky to school and get myself a latte as a consolation prize. There, made it relevant, just about!

    Hi Kate

As you know I was chuffed to bits when you won this award. Couldn't think of a more deserving author or a more deserving book. Gio was such a sweetie - he can serve me a free coffee any day!

Thanks Sue and Nic for the congrats. I'm so excited. And so is my husband. His comment? Does this mean you might make some money now? Bless his little mercenary heart.

And thanks Jeanette for the heads up on the buddie thing. Right, now I'm off to go make some friends.

    Hi All

Love this new forum, don't really have a clue how to use it though (how do you send a buddy request!), but it is another great distraction from my WIP (not that I'm looking for one mind).

Congrats with your fifth Nat (how did you do that so fast?) and good luck with your comp entry Judy. Rats, I guess it's back to the WIP now.
