#122 - A Man in a Million by Jessica Bird (SSE #1803, Jan 2007)

book cover"As far as bad boy Spike Moriarty was concerned, Madeline Maguire defined female perfection. When they'd met, she'd walked up as if she wasn't the most gorgeous thing on the planet and asked to see his tattoos. He--a tough guy who'd make grown men run--had just about passed out. But their connection was definitely one-way...it had to be. Because he could never be the man in a million she was looking for, not with the things he'd done and seen. So for as long as she'd let him, he'd give her whatever she wanted. He'd worry about her walking away when it happened."

This is the fourth book in the Moorehouse Legacy series - I haven't read any of the others in the series and had no problem following it.

I really enjoyed the story - Spike was so cool.

This review attracted my eye

This review attracted my eye because the book's by Jessica Bird.  I recently read all the Black Dagger Brotherhood books she wrote under the name JR Ward.  I'm intrigued...  should I be checking out some of the books she wrote as Jessica Bird?  Probably I guess!  I'll have to have a looksie.

HI Janet & FF!

Janet - definitely check out her books - I've only read a few by JB and enjoyed them all.  When I was looking for a picture for my review, I noticed on Amazon a review commenting on how this book was similar to the BDB, except no vampires.  I don't think it is unless they mean the hero - tough, but sensitive and thinking he doesn't deserve happiness.  I guess you could describe the brothers as the same.

FF - yes Spike is very hot - a real bad boy trying to straighten out his life - if others will let him.

RE: Jessica Bird

I recommend reading these. I read this one the the one that followed called The Billionaire Next Door. I loved both. They were really good. I know that they are part of the Moorehouse Legacy but I think that the first three books, which I didn't read, were a set and this one was the first of a new set.
