153. Anthology ~ Shifter ~ Berkley Sensation Paranormal Romance (March 08)

I got this book as soon as I saw it in the store ~ after all it had stories by both Angela Knight and Lora Leigh, both of whom are favourites and autobuys for me. Both these stories I really liked, as I had thought that I would.
What I hadn’t really expected was that I would like the other two stories as well. I did, slightly, prefer Virginia Kantra’s story to Alyssa Day’s; but either way, this book rates a very solid 4.0, aka Excellent!! The steaminess rating? They’re all definitely more along the lines of romantica ~ Heat Wave anyone?

RATING:
Excellence: Great to Excellent ~ 3.0 to 4.5 stars
Steaminess: Heat Wave

BOOK READ:
Anthology; Shifter; Berkley Sensation Paranormal Romance; March 2008

FROM THE BACK:
In this seductive anthology, four masters of
         paranormal romance explore the boundaries
of erotic shape-shifting fantasy ~ and shatter them.
Something happens when the beast within is teased and tempted. Something dangerous. Something inescapable. Something so irresistible no woman would want to run from it. Whether transforming beneath a cool blue moon, prowling the night streets with feline grace and bloodred talons, or panting with pleasure, the shifters come alive to fulfill your wildest fantasies…

  • Angela Knight ~ Mad Dog Love : New (or is it just new-to-me?) series from this author; we’re on an alien world (or two) and dealing with a werewolf. Yummy! 4.0 stars ~ HIGHLY RECOMMEND
  • Lora Leigh ~ A Jaguar’s Kiss : Another of LL’s Feline Breeds stories; this time it’s Saban Broussard, a Cajun jaguar… double YUM! Once again the strong female has trouble giving into the attraction she feels for her, unacknowledged by her, mate… but the guys wouldn’t have it any other way. 4.5 stars ~ VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
  • Alyssa Day ~ Shifter’s Lady:  Panther shape-shifter in the Florida Everglades meets Atlantean Priestess, or some such designation, and both are struck by an immediate and life-altering attraction…. The basic romance was taken care of, but it really feels as though there’s more to come in the next book… not sure if I’m interested enough. 3.0 stars ~ RECOMMEND especially if you’re a fan of AD’s Atlantis series.
  • Virginia Kantra ~Sea Crossing : Mmm mmm mmm ~ gotta love these gorgeous selkies ~ at least I do. There is a follow-up story previewed at the end of the book; now whether or not there’s any character cross-over, I can’t say… but the next story ~ Sea Witch ~ sounds intriguing. 3.5 stars ~ RECOMMEND

I'll be reading this

I'll be reading this one soon. I downloaded it to my Kindle for easier reading. Glad that it's so good but I kinda knew I'd like the Angela Knight and Lora Leigh as I've liked everything I've read by them.

Hey Deb....

Just like me!  Although I have it in pb (well, duh!)... I know that you'll like Angela Knight's and LL's stories... I don't think they can write a bad story.
Have you read anything by either of the other two authors?  Their stories were a pleasant surprise 'cause usually there's at least one story in an anthology that doesn't really do it for me... but not these.

I've read Alyssa

I've read Alyssa Day's Atlantis stories. They were really good Atlantis Rising and Atlantis don't remember this one. I've read a couple of Vriginia Kantra eH books but it's been a long time.

Will check it out!

I have to admit that I have not read Angela Knight yet. I love romance/paranormal genres. My top favorite is Take Me There, and I have to admit that these books you have mentioned have peaked my interest in the shapeshifting realm of romance. Thanks for the great suggestions.

Angela Knight

Angela Knight is great and see if you can find Jane's Warlord and Master of the Night they're her first couple of books and then after reading those I'm sure you'll have to find her others.

I second Deb's recommendations.

At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to try something new by Angela Knight, but I soon realized that anything she writes has its own magic.  She is one amazing author and definitely one of my top favourites in the paranormal genre.
