158. Kelley Armstrong ~ Stolen ~ Seal Books

I read the first book by Kelley Armstrong in her Women of the Otherworld series ~ Bitten ~ during last year's challenge. Unfortunately it's taken me this long to get all the remaining books in the series, figure out which was next, etc. and finally sit down with them. Oh I wish I had done so sooner. But better late than never, right? This book ~ Stolen is the second in the series and continues Elena Michaels, the only female werewolf, and her story. This one is a vastly complex story and I very highly recommend that the books are read in order. The background coming from Bitten makes it much easier to find your way through the adventures in these pages. The action in the first book was incredible, but Kelley Armstrong has ratchetted up the tension, thrills and action to the nth degree.
Beware that this story isn't for the faint of heart; the story deals with a number of races ~ werewolves, witches, shamans and various types half-demons ~ working to save themselves from being collected by a group of humans not looking to make the supernaturals' lives easier. The characters are amazing as is the ongoing and enthralling action: very hard to believe that this was only Ms. Armstrong's second book 'cause it, as well as the first, read very much as though they were definitely part of a bigger and very established series. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

RATING:
Excellence: Excellent ~ 4.0 stars
Steaminess: Sensual+

BOOK READ:
Kelley Armstrong; Stolen; Seal Books; 2002
2nd book in the Women of the Otherworld series

FROM the BACK:
                       ELENA . . . THE WEREWOLF
Even though she's the world's only female werewolf, Elena Michaels is just a regular girl at heart, so naturally, she doesn't believe in witches.  But when two small, ridiculously feminine women manage to hurl her against a wall, and then save her from the hunters on her tail, Elena realizes that maybe there are more things in heaven and earth than she's dreamt of.
Vampires, demons, shamans, witches ~ in Stolen ~ they all exist, and they're all under attack.  An obsessed tycoon with a sick curiosity is well on his way to amassing a private collection of supernaturals, and plans to harness their powers for himself ~ even if it means killing them.  For Elena, kidnapped and imprisoned deep underground, separated from her Pack, unable to tell her friends from her enemies, choosing the right allies is a matter of life and death.

kalyko ~ Reading: One of life's little joys and a much needed reward!

I read these back to back.

I read these back to back years ago. Loved Bitten and thought it was a great new start to a different series. Then I read the next two and stopped just to take a break and haven't picked up one since. Next month for sure I'm gonna get back to them.

Hey Deb...

So far I've read Stolen, Dime Store Magic and Industrial Magic (almost done) one after the other.  I was thinking of taking a break, but I don't think I'm going to yet.  I've got Haunted, Broken and No Humans Involved left on my shelf.  The further I get into the series, the more that I want to read the rest of it... I'm so loving the complexity that Kelley's created.  Fabulous.

Yes I am a readalholic and I don't want the 12 step program!!!

Hi Jeannie....

Thanks!  I'll do that.

I've just finished reviewing Kelley Armstrong's Haunted and I'm debating whether to continue on with the series or to head in a different direction... decisions, decisions.
