I finally, finally finished Lover Enshrined, J. R. Ward's sixth novel in her Black Dagger Brotherhood series ~ powerful, powerful story!
And it was far more than I had hoped. I'm rather flummoxed at present and need to digest the story, and what happened and what's been set up to happen. But, OMG!!!! As usual the WARDen has done an amazing job with not only the Brothers, but also with the vampire world in general....
Speechless!

06/08/08 (finally not speechless any longer)
J. R. Ward has written another blockbuster in her BDB series. With every novel we're taken further into the lives of the vampires in Caldwell, NY as well as the lives of the Brotherhood, their shellans and those around them. The Black Dagger Brotherhood are an extremely dynamic group who stand together; whose lives are intertwined with each other to a marked degree; who, one by one, are finding their life-mates and experiencing the healing power of love.
In Lover Enshrined, J. R. Ward takes us deeper into the background of the race and the creators of the vampires and the Lessers. We're also given, I think, a much better look at what may be ahead for the Brothers and those that they protect. Fabulous, fabulous story, about which I can't say enough or, if given a chance, would say far too much. But one thing that needs to be said:
VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!
RATING:
Excellence: OUTSTANDING (and then some) ~ 5.0++ stars
Steaminess: Sensual to Yummy
BOOK READ:
J. R. Ward; Lover Enshrined; Signet Novel; June 2008
6th in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series
FROM the BACK:
Fiercely loyal to the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Phury has sacrificed himself for the good of the race, becoming the male responsible for keeping the Brotherhood's bloodlines alive. As Primale of the Chosen, he is obligated to father the sons and daughters who will ensure that the traditions of the race survive, and that there are warriors to fight those who want all vampires extinguished.
As his first mate, the Chosen Cormia wants to win not only his body but his heart for herself. She is drawn to the noble responsibliity behind the emotionally scarred male. But Phury has never allowed himself to know pleasure or joy. As the war with the Lessening Society grows grim, tragedy looms over the Brotherhood's mansion, and Phury must decide between duty and love....

wow!!! what a review!!!
I have become impatient to read the story as your review makes it sound so fantastic that I can't wait any more and will definately go to the shop and buy it tomorrow as soon as possible. I can't wait to read it and discover all the juicy details about it.
I have read all the previous books and have been waiting (impatiently!!!) for this one to be released. I accidently began reading these brotherhood books as the blurb on the back of Dark Lover sounded interesting. I was hooked on them from the moment. I actively went searching for the rest of the books in the series and now that I have caught up with the series, I want to read more
Lovely review. Keep it up!!!! Will definately be reading it as soon as I get it. Doesn't matter that at present I am in the middle of a book written by Nora Roberts. I am going to put that to the side and read this one before doing anything else and completing the current one.
Great review
You all have almost convinced me to try this series.

Excellent!
Angel, as you're already a fan of the Brothers, I'm sure that you'll love this story. I'll be very curious to see just what you think of it, etc. I still haven't visited the Spoilers room, but I'm gonna. And thank you so much for the very kind words... the book pretty much speaks for itself.
Kate, not much of a vampire (or paranormal) fan? Before I read Lover Awakened (#3 and the first book that I read from this series) I was NOT, in any way, shap or form, a fan of vampires. But right from the very beginning ~ literally ~ I was hooked.
Once I realized the book was about vampires I very nearly didn't read it, but the opening sentence and, indeed the next couple of pages, got me so involved with the characters (I was even coming midway into the series) that I actually went directly to the book store to find the first two books... it was THAT GREAT!!! I found them, read the three books in two to three days and the rest, as they say, is history!
If you know someone that has the books, and isn't loathe to lend them out, try it that way first. But oh I do love my Brothers!

Now the wait
Now the wait is on again. This cleared up some things but created more openings for other things to happen. Thought this was very deep.

I'm sure it'll be something like your review. Not up for it tonight as it's 11:22 now and I'm kinda tired. But I will definitely be reviewing it tomorrow!!

MY BOOK REVIEWS
I was thinking...
I dunno, maybe I'll do a spoiler review and state it's a spoiler with the title. That way only people who have read the book will enter and read it. I guess I'll have to think about which way to go overnight.

MY BOOK REVIEWS
Stopping in to let you know
Stopping in to let you know i've finished LE and am now running around reading reviews. I think you may be my last one i needed to catch up with Kathy... Not positive, i hope i haven't missed anyone.
Kate, Book#1, Dark Lover is a very good book to start you off, and a very tame one as well imho, and if you don't come out of that one in love, i'd be surprised. lol

That's what I get for giving my family the computer all weekend!
LOL ... no messages received.
Deb, I know! Now there are a million and one things that I need cleared up ~ but then it's always that way after we finish one of Ward's BDB books, right?
But it sure did move us along the way... I'm getting a much better idea, I think, of just where we could end up... Yippee!
Shelley, ah there's no doubt in my mind that any fan of the Brothers will feel the same way ~ I'll be checking out your review for sure. I want to head over to SLATB and go wild with the thoughts percolating through my brain... that is, if I can keep it all straight.... Again, all I can think is W-O-W, again and again.
Kathy, oh I think that we're going to be running around checking out reviews for a while... I know that I have to do some serious Brother checks!
