Anya Kobrin met the Coyote ‘Ghost’ when she was sixteen. She was trying to save five female Coyote Breeds from the Russian labs. He said he had to wait until circumstances were clear and it took him six years to come in a free them. Her father and cousins were security at the lab and she had the ‘Ghost’, Del Rey Santiago, promise not to harm them. She met with Del Rey many times over the years with information and maps. Del Rey claimed her but never told her. When he finally came in to rescue the breeds at the facility, he shot her father and cousins in the legs and took her with them. She was twenty two. She was beautiful to him…. His by his choice… and he had sex with her.

Neither Anya or Del Rey knew about the mating heat and when she found out about it she renounced being his mate. He gave her a year to think about it and left on assignment. He stayed out on assignment for eight months. Whenever he was at the Coyote compound in the mountains above Haven (the Wolf Breed compound), Anya and her guards (3 of the 5 female Coyotes rescued with her) left for Sanctuary until he left again. The hormone therapy did not work very well on Anya and she wanted Coyote doctors – doctors who understood the DNA and makeup of the Coyote breeds. Most of them had been killed either by the Genetics Council or by Del Rey and his enforcers. Anya knew they needed specialized medical care. Dr Armani was a Wolf Breed specialist who was unfamiliar with the differences between the Wolf and Coyote.

Del Rey came back unexpectedly and Anya had things to finish before leaving for Sanctuary. She and her guards slipped out of the tunnels and insurgents attempted to kidnap or kill her. Del Rey was furious. Anya had worked hard in the times Del Rey was gone to bring about order and self reliance. She needed some improvements signed off by DelRey but as Coya (First Lady of the Coyotes and acknowledged as Del Rey’s mate – he being the Alpha / Leader) she accomplished many things. When she was attacked, Del Rey did something to protect her that backfired on all of them.

Again trust is the issue. Does he trust her judgment in helping to run the compound? Does he trust that he loves her? Or that she loves him? Can she trust him to make the right decisions for the right reasons?

Damn…. Now I have to wait for Cabel’s story – Bengal’s Heart. Cabel is Tanner’s brother, a Bengal Breed and his story is not due out til Aug 4. She is just going to have to write faster now that she is writing better and better. Thank goodness we are getting a Seals one in March – Maverick.

Hey Jeannie....

I've got to head out to the bookstore tomorrow to pick up a book that arrived... guess what else I'm getting, eh?

Fantastic review!  And thanks for the info on upcoming books.  You're a treasure!

Reading

this one now and it's as usual awesome. Glad to see your glowing review. You're so right it's hard to wait on her books. I'm trying to read this one slower but it's so hard.

I'm trying to read this

I'm trying to read this one slower but it's hard.

Deb, I gave that ambition up ages ago... there's just no way for me to read slow; my only recourse is to re-read before the next one comes out... but then I've got that pesky TBR that gets in the way! Wink

But I ordered this book the other day along with a few other Lora Leigh books.. and I think 1 or 2 others...Undecided UndecidedShoot, now I'm gonna have to check my email to remind myself.
Or wait for a surprise to come in the mail! Innocent

I was going

along at a pretty leisurely pace but when I got to around page 90 I couldn't read fast enough just had to keep going and find out all the little details. In other words I'll be blogging it soon after I get a few more entered. I have to enter them in the order I read them. I didn't think I liked the Coyotes as much but that's what I get for thinking.

LOL

Hi Kathy and Kalyco and Deb.... glad to see you are enjoying this book and this author as much as I am.  Reading slow is not an option and the TBR if it falls over will bury me for sure.  I have thought about not buying new ones, but how can I resist the NEXT book in a series or the newest one from a fave author or one of eharl delightful sales.... sigh... I am an addict and I still don't want the cure.  Glad you are all still here reading along with me.
