288. Heather Graham ~ Deadly Night ~ MIRA [Oct 08] ~ Flynn Brothers trilogy

kalyko
Format: Print Books
Series: MIRA Books

Heather Graham has got a new, very spooky, trilogy out with books being published in three consecutive months; of course I had to get, and read right away, the first book.  This book, anyway, deals with the ghostly element that I love in her latest books (The Presence, Ghost Walk, The Vision, etc.) and is set, once again, in New Orleans.  But along with a number of ghostly apparitions, there is a definite sense of evil that pervades the story and it really kept me glued to the pages.
For anyone that enjoys thrillers, romantic suspense and ghosts, this is a story for you!

The next two books in the trilogy ~ Deadly Harvest and Deadly Gift ~ will be released in November and December respectively.

RATING:
Excellence: Excellent ~ 4 stars of 5
Steaminess: Yummy / Sensual

BOOK READ:
Heather Graham; Deadly Night; MIRA Paranormal; October 2008
Book 1 of The Flynn Brothers trilogy

FROM the BACK:
The Flynn brothers have inherited more than a New Orleans plantation. They've inherited a ghostly presence...and a long-kept secret.
Aidan Flynn, a private investigator and eldest of the Flynn brothers, scoffs at the haunted-house rumors ~ especially since Kendall Montgomery, a tarot card reader who has been living in the mansion, is the one to tell him of the tale of a woman in white.  But when he finds a human bone on the grounds and another by the river, Aidan delves into the dark history of the Flynn plantation.
Forced together to uncover the truth, Aidan and  Kendall realize that a serial killer whose victims seem to vanish into thin air has long been at work...and that their own fates are about to be sealed forever unless they believe in the unbelievable.

re: Deadly Night

I got this with my Mira shipment and am really looking forward to it...love ghost stories, and I read my first Heather Graham book earlier this year and really enjoyed it.  Sounds great!

Picked this

up last week and it sounds like it will be a perfect read for this Halloween month. Glad I saw your review.

Re: Heather Graham...

Amalthea, if you're getting the Mira shipments monthly, then you'll be getting the next two books right away as well... cool!

Deb, yep HG's stories are great Halloween ones....  good spook factor.

I'll be glad to get the next two read ASAP as well... now that I've read Aidan's story I'm really curious as to Jeremy's and Zach's stories....

Totally!  I'm looking

Totally!  I'm looking forward to the whole trilogy...at least, I think my Miras continue to the end of the year (I won a free year of shipments in one of the writing contests).  If not, I'll be sure to order the Heather Graham ones on my own.

Oooh, prizes of free books for a year...

What an awesome treat for a reader!  I know 'cause I had a similar prize a couple of years ago....  Free books ~ a girl's best friend!  Wink

I know, isn't it awesome?

I know, isn't it awesome?  It even beats a gift certificate all at once, because you get exciting mail every month!

What contest did you win yours in, out of curiousity?

It was from the Fog City Divas...

In each quarter of 2006 they would choose one poster's name and announced that the four winners would receive an autographed copy of each author's 2007 release.  There were at that time, 11 authors as part of the group... and I was the third quarter winner.... So over the course of 2007 I received something like 20 books from 9 or 10 different authors.

So yeah, I know exactly what you mean when you say it's very exciting mail!  Laughing
