A Soldier's Family by Cheryl Wyatt is her second book for LI, as well as the second book in the Wings of Refuge series. I really liked the first book, and I liked this one even better, I think.
The book starts out with Manny doing a parachute jump and the parachute doesn't open properly. You can believe that caught my attention real quick!
Manny survives the jump -- barely -- and is sent to the little city of Refuge to recuperate as they have a first class rehab centre there. Of course, that's where Celia lives, and is best friends with Joel's wife, Amber. Joel and Amber were the first book.
The conflict comes in because Celia had previously met Manny, and they struck sparks off each other, which she did not like. On top of that, he got drunk at Joel & Amber's wedding and propositioned her in front of everyone at the wedding. So what is she to do now that he's in town again, and living at her best friend's house? There's no way she can avoid him, and he makes it impossible to even try as he puts himself in her path as often as he can.
