Kate is trying and failing to turn her TV career around when Jesse comes back into her life. He's supposed to be in training for the PGA tournament but he hasn't been able to hit a ball since he saved a woman's life with CPR. Kate and Jesse have been best friends forever. Is it time for them to become lovers? What will he do about the preteen son that suddenly turns up on his doorstep?
Kate's friends annoyed me so much at the start I nearly gave up altogether and had to read a different book to calm myself down enough to continue. Jesse's brother was a bit over the top but I enjoyed the book, Kate and Jesse's dilemma, Travis and his wise advice to the adults. I loved the Golf-Off. The book definitely improved once the focus went off the friends and on to Kate and Jesse. I did not like the email intros to the chapters

I vaguely
remember this one. it looks like I gave it a 4 but I don't remember too much about it.
Hey Julz - that's my criterion for how to rate a book when I'm
blogging it a week to ten days after I've read it, if I need to reformulate the blurb or pick up the book again to check a detail then it doesn't warrant a Great or Excellent because I can't remember it
I mean I love Cathy Mann's books and a friend of mine was blogging them last week and I immediately spotted when she got some names wrong
The definite sign of a great book is when you didn't particularly like the characters or the story but you can't get them to leave you alone!
