#40. Witness by Susan Page Davis. A Love Inspired Suspense book from Apr. 08

The last time Petra reported a crime someone died.  This time someone was already dead.  "I saw my neighbour murder his wife."  So where did the body go?  And why didn't the police believe her?

Joe was a P.I.  He vowed to uncover the truth.  No matter what.  But he couldn't guard Petra all the time.  Did she really see someone murdered?  How did the man get rid of the body so quickly?  And how did he find out it was Petra who saw him?

Though she has written several other books, this is only Susan's second book for Steeple Hill.  I certainly hope it is not her last.  This book held my attention from beginning to end, and a very surprising end it was.  Amazing twists throughout the whole story.

Excellence rating:  Great -- 4.5 stars

Hi Donna...

Just stopping in to see what you've been reading & say "Hi". Smile

I just finished reading a suspense but I had a bit of trouble getting into it!  I think partly because I had just finished reading the last book in The Lakeshore Chronicles, which was a good series by Susan Wiggs.  It is sometimes hard to pick out a book when you've just read several that were very good!  It looks like Susan Wiggs is going to do more in that series which I am glad to discover.

After the suspense book I decided I needed a comfort book (sort of like comfort food) so picked up a Nora Roberts book that is a reissue that I read several years ago.  She never lets me down!

Have a good weekend.

Take care, happy reading,
