#63: The Soldier's Homecoming by Donna Alward Har Rom March 2008

Score: 3.5

This one made me cry. Jonas is a Special Ops solider who was hurt on a mission that killed his best friend.  He feels responsible and is facing career uncertainty as he goes through physical therapy back on his home base.  Shannyn and Jonas were an item before he left for his Army career.  She is working in the physical therapists office and they meet again.  She is still hurting over him leaving her behind without a backwards glance.  She also has a secret... a 5 year old daughter that belongs to him too....

Add to this Jonas' struggles with Post Tramatic Stress over the events leading to his friend's death.  This was a good example of the lasting effects of war on soliders and their families.  Great read for the 4th of July.
