#76 Kiss of Fire by Deborah Cooke, Signet 2008
Yea, Thar be Dragons…
From Blurb: For millennia, the shape-shifting dragon warriors known as the Pyr lived peacefully as guardians of both the four elements and the earth’s treasures. But now the final reckoning between the Pyr, who count humans among these treasures, and the Slayers, who would eradicate humans and the Pyr who protect them is about to begin…
Sara Keegan had lived a fast paced life as a high level accountant that traveled over the world pulling together account information to facilitate deals. When her parents were killed a year ago and then her aunt Magda died, she pulled up stakes to settle in Ann Arbor, Michigan to run her Aunt Magda’s new age bookstore, The Scrying Glass. She was attacked when leaving the shop one night and quickly rescued by a dragon who plucks her attacker off of her. She faints. When she awakens, Quinn Tyrell is leaning over her trying to assist her. She figured she imagined the dragon.
Quinn Tyrell is a smith. He is also a shape-shifting dragon warrior. Sara is his mate, though she does not know it. It is the time of Quinn’s firestorm, which is part of the mating rituals where a dragon meets his mate so they can breed. They are well matched and this firestorm is part of a prophecy of the meeting of the Seer and the Smith uniting with the four elements, which will give birth to the Pyr’s one chance to save the earth.
This was a stem back for me into the realms of Science Fiction/Fantasy…. A past addiction of mine. While I read of vampires and witches and don’t feel that step backward, somehow flying colored dragons were a mental stop and take a deeper look. I enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one due out in August.
Rating …. Interesting - Good

I've looked at this book at the store
a bazillion times but have never bought it. There's something about it that catches my eye so I pick it up but it never goes to the check-out aisle with me. I don't know why.
