Matt Conway had left Chapel, Michigan to go to college in CA on a scholarship.
He went on to the National Football League until his knee was blown in a freak accident.
He came back to open up one of his Touchdown Restaurants in Chapel. Some of the good folks in town don't want him to succeed. After all his parents were drunks and now he is a millionaire. His best friend Ty Douglas approached him to try to seduce his sister, Emily because he hated her boyfriend. He implied the boyfriend was into something illegal and he wanted to protect Emily.
Ty’s parents had sold Matt the land for the new restaurant so he couldn’t very well say no. Besides he and Emily went way back and had been his best friend growing up until he seduced her beside the bonfire the night before he left.
Emily Douglas ran Marlette Nurseries and her dream was to own her own flower shop. She was counting on getting the money together and buying the land next to Matt’s restaurant and needed at least another 6 months to do that. She has dreaded seeing Matt again. He walked out of her life 10 years ago and never called or wrote. She needed his contract to keep the failing nursery afloat and keep her money coming in so she approached him at the construction site where he turned on the charm and she said she would get back to him. He kept pursuing her and she kept evading him.
It was a good read. The familiar give and take with sexual shenanigans.
