Accidental Mistress by Susan Napier (HP 2729)

Back Cover:

The things she had to do to save her family business! Emily Quest had dressed to the nines and gone to an awful party, where she'd been rescued by a handsome stranger.

Despite the sizzling attraction between them, Emily never thought she'd see him again. But now he's right in front of her, as gorgeous as ever! Ethan West thinks Emily is a rapacious good-time girl, and he's about to make her face the consequences—in his bed!

Favourite Scene: (great banter! love that they shoot back at each other)

‘Because if you had a sibling you’d know that gloating is bad form—and the quickest way to escalate a fight.’

‘Then why do I get the feeling you’re a champion gloater?’ she shot back, and Peter laughed.

‘He doesn’t call it gloating. He calls it savouring victory.’

Another Favourite Scene:  (*grin* Love the bit about being a hussy!)

‘Perhaps Carly will tell me,’ she said stubbornly.

‘I doubt it. I told her you were a gold-digging hussy, that if you didn’t get your claws into Peter you’d be after Dylan or me.’
‘I’m not a gold-digger!’

‘So you’re admitting you’re a hussy?’

My Review:

Tee hee!  This was a yummy story, steamy and funny.  Loved the chemistry between the hero/heroine.  They met two or three years ago at a drug/booze party that neither wanted to be at, but she pretended to be sleazy because she was there on a mission.  In the present he meets her at his uncle's house and is surprised and worried she's going to take advantage of the uncle.  He learns pretty quickly that Emily isn't the sleazy girl he thought, and it's nice that he always gives her the benefit of the doubt (that's a good MAN to me).  I liked how SN wrote the hero as "curious" at times, the curious looks he gave the heroine were perfect and made great moments where there was just this underlying connection.  I liked the role of Ethan's brother, he was hilarious and made trouble in such a cute way.  Very entertaining book.

Rating: 4/5 stars, yummy, steamy, funny!

Sounds great!

thanks for the review - this reminds me I need to go buy this one!
