This the first book of the terrific 'Evie' duo from Beth Ciotta. And, since she's currently working on her third, it will soon become a trio.
All About Evie is so fun to read that I couldn't put it down - stayed awake past three a.m. to devour the last page! Written in first person, it takes you straight into the mind of Evie, a struggling forty-year old actress who's beginning to realize she's worth more than just perky boobs and a tight butt. Third person narrative is cunningly weaved in to give us details we wouldn't know otherwise, and this is a style that I personally believe has been done to perfect effect. I fell lustingly in love with Arch, the sexy hunk (an ex-con man involved in a secret mission) who enters Evie's life through an enticing acting engagement that.... Well, I can't say too much more here without blabbing spoilers.
A fun, sassy, and witty modern take on what could've ended up as a mid-life crisis that instead turns to pure ecstasy. If you like a book with a bit of punchy suspense thrown into the mix, then I highly recommend All About Evie.
