Almost Like Being In Love

Pepper, orphaned at the age of eight and separated from her siblings. placed in numerous foster homes till she finally goes to Mrs.Dreiss's ranch and finally finds home.  She falls in love with Dan Graham, runs away and years later comes back to the ranch to hide after witnessing a murder.  Dan is there to protect her and she finds out that she has inherited the ranch.  Together can they solve the murder mystery.  Dan is a special force soldier.  Excellent book.
