Anything For You,

Since when was his best friend this hot?

The world according to Sam Kirk has just turned upside down. His best friend and business partner, Delaney Michaels, has returned from vacation a new woman...a gorgeous, hot new woman. Suddenly Sam is thinking entirely inappropriate thoughts about his buddy. Worse, with Delaney's changed look, she's abandoning their friendship in pursuit of the picket fence dream. It's a nightmare come true.

Then one night finds them tangling in the sheets. It should feel wrong, wrong, wrong...instead, it feels very right. And now Sam knows exactly what he'd do to keep his best friend: absolutely anything.

This was my first read by this author and will not be my last. Thanx to Margies review for hooking me into buying this book. One of my favorite themes is best friends falling in love, and this was a really good example of why i love this theme.

Yes!  So glad you read

Yes!  So glad you read this one and loved it.  The last person I saw reviewing this book was a tad disappointed by it.  I absolutely loved it.  I'm such a sucker for a friends-to-lovers story.  Mmmm.  This one was great.

Here's another Friends-to-Lovers story that rocked my world.  The tenderness and attraction between them was so vivid in even the smallest touches they shared...  wow....  I really really enjoyed this one.

What Are Friends For
Naomi Horton
Silhouette Desire
They have been friends (blood brothers) for 20 years.  They tried sex once when she was 17 or 18, but he married someone else.  He's had two failed marriages.  This book picks up after the second divorce comes through, she's there for him.  They work together, he's her boss.  They get along so smoothly, they are perfect friends and there is this basic attraction between them that just makes them want to touch each other (whether it's sexual or not).  The intimacy between these two people is absolutely amazing.  They are so close, every touch between them made me fall a little in love with love.  Their conflict was good.  I have put this on my list of "my absolute fav books, must re-read sometime".  Rating: 5/5 stars, I'd give it more stars if I could.  Read this book, it will not disappoint!  It's steamy and the love is so strong!  It makes you wish you had a relationship like this.

Just adding something...

Just adding something... about the "What are Friends For?" book....  It's a big deal for me to be recommending a book where they broke up because of mixed signals, and the heroine had to watch her hero move on and marry other women.  I would normally be very hesitant about a plot line like that.  BUT I felt entirely fine with that in this book.  The heroine hadn't pined and had moved on, but stilll always been there as a FRIEND no matter what.  And I felt just really positive about the book.

Hi Kathy

I'm glad you enjoyed this one. Janet's review made this sound so good I had to read it. I got it by ebook and I loved it. I loved Sam and Delaney. Yummy story.

I don't know if you know but I tried to get this one from eBay but I got a dud seller. I've put a claim/complaint in and Pay Pal is checking into it. The seller has until the 22nd to respond then I think I will get my money refunded. I've checked and they haven't mande any response so far. I am going to get this from someone else after this mess is done.

Margie :)

Hi Janet! Yes, I'm a real

Hi Janet! Yes, I'm a real sucker for this theme as well. I wish my copy i bought was in better shape for my collection(i bought it off eBay). But if i'm patient, i'll come across a good used copy one day.

Thanx for the new recommend. Like you, that storyline sounds a little iffy for me as well. The fact that noone suffered the breakup makes it sound not quite so harsh to me though. I'll keep my eyes open for it at the UBS in the city.

Hi Margie, No, i wasn't

Hi Margie, No, i wasn't aware you had ordered and not recieved your copy thru eBay. Sorry to hear that. That sucks...i've always worried about that happening and whether eBay would really go good for it. You'll have to keep us posted on whether eBay does actually credit you for it. I sure hope they do. Good luck.

Hi Kathy

Actually, my purchase would be taken care of by Pay Pal since I used them. I don't know how it would be handled by eBay. In the past, I have won auctions and sent my money by check. I always received my books. I would have hated to send my money and never get my books! Scary. I used the Buy it Now and used Pay Pal to pay for it. Tomorrow is the last day for them to respond.

They should have a receipt from the post office with my zip code even if I didn't pay for express mail. Everytime I mail something at the counter, which is usual for a book, I get a receipt showing the zip code. I know they have nothing and I'll be getting my refund. Then I can go do my review on them.

Margie...  ebay and paypal

Margie...  ebay and paypal should both be insured.  I just wouldn't know which one would pay out in a case of a mess up.  To me, they are so tied together...  because all my ebay purchases have been paid for with Paypal.  Anyhow, good luck.  Hope your money and book get to you properly.

Kathleen....  Sorry that mentioning that potential ick factor makes you a bit more reluctant to read the book.  I always say the most negative thing I can think of about books though, because better to know ahead of time.  I'm a huge anti-infidelity person, so I like to be warned off myself in advance.

ANYWAY...  "What Are Friends For" by Naomi Horton is an absolute keeper if you do pick it up.  I wish I had written down some favourite scenes from that book, but I didn't think to do fav scenes at the time.  Really...  they are friends who work together... and there is this one scene where she just comes up behind him and HUGS him...  *warm tingles* ...  and there is a scene where he is celebrating his divorce (drunk) and she comes over and he wants her.

There's also another positive thing that makes the hero's marriages to other women seem "better"...  he's always faithful to the woman he's with.  He didn't touch another woman until the divorce papers were in his hands signed.  Even if it meant a year or two of celibacy for him, from their final fight to the time the papers came through.  He goes into relationships with such hope and earnestness...  he really has good intentions.  He's a good man, he's not a cad who uses women and doesn't care.  I found this hero more appealing then so many other "player" heroes because he wanted relationships.

Something to think about!

Margie, I'm not sure how

Margie, I'm not sure how eBay/Paypal work either when it comes to credits...but i think with mine, eBay might have to credit my Paypal account, when in regards to an eBay transaction not recieved? Just a guess mind you. I also got my Paypal account thru eBay...i kinda thought that was the only way to get a Paypal account, but maybe i'm mistaken? Wouldn't be the first time. lol

Janet, I really appreciate

Janet, I really appreciate knowing negative aspects in advance, that may affect my enjoyment of a book..,then i can prepare myself for it and often not be as affected, if affected at all.

You've definately got my curiousity peaked. Ken & I are going into the city tomorrow, so i'm hoping to get a chance to peak in at the books in UBS there. I've written down the author/title, so i'll look for it, and maybe i'll get lucky.
