Book 2 in the Precinct - Brotherhood of the Badge series. I wish we didn't have to wait until October for the next book. I'm loving these Kincaid men and am very intrigued into finding out about thier father's murder.
And we got some great new twists in this book. Wow!
Of course, I lived Atticus. I loved how his thoughts and feelings for Brooke took him by surprise, how he kept calling her honey. I really felt for Brooke. In a way, she reminded me of me. Her aunts were great!
I loved the aspect of her fixing up an old church to live in. I wonder how that will go with her and Atticus getting together.
Julie, if you're out there, are the next books back to back like the first two? I'm very interested in Edward's story. And we already know Holden's a good singer and that can be really sexy for his story. lol
blurb from cover: She was just a secretary... a virgin no less - and he was all male with sex appeal to burn!
When did plain, mousy personal assistant Brooke Hanford sprout miles of long, smooth, creamy legs? And more important, why did Detective Atticus Kincaid suddenly notice? Their relationship had always been the "good friend" variety. But now Brooke was in his thoughts and under his skin. The fact that she was receiving unwanted male attention in the form of some creep's anonymous psychological terror brought out all of Atticus's protective instincts.
Now Brooke found herself virtually surrounded by the badge and broad shoulders of Atticus. Her awkward affection for him erupted into a raw need that she'd never known. But would the fuel of newfound passion ignite a killer's revenge…?

Tracey....
I'm reading this one right now - to chapter eight so far. I feel a connection with Brooke because I've always been a bit of a klutz, and people (including my DH) tell me I analyze everything to death just like she does. I haven't read any other romance that has the heroine wearing glasses because she literally can't see without them, so I really like the individuality Julie has given the characters. I also like the rapidly growing mystery and what I'm sensing will be a bit of a boom in the end. Oh, and of course, Atticus is a pretty hot H.
Your review is good!

I'm not Julie Miller, but I can answer your question. The next two brothers' books are back to back--one in October and one in November, unless, of course, you buy them here a month early!

Patsy, at least you can still enjoy this book without having read the first one, right?
Hey, Tracey--I see J
Hey, Tracey--I see J already beat me to it. Yes, Holden and Edward's books will be out back to back in October-November (or right now! September-October here on eHQ
).
Thanks for the great review. I really relate to Brooke, too, being nearsighted enough to require contacts AND reading glasses OR computer glasses to see and work
.
And the church house is based on a real place. Some friends of ours in Kansas City wanted a weekend getaway home outside the city, so they bought an old historic church out in a small town in Kansas. They gutted it and have remodeled it beautifully! We stayed there for a vacation once. Loved it! Gave me lots of ideas for mysteries and chases and counter top scenes
.
I hope you'll enjoy the last two stories in the Brotherhood of the Badge as well.
