Bedded by the Billionaire by Leanne Banks (SD 1863)

Back Cover:

Duty demanded Max DeLuca take care of pretty and very pregnant Lilli McCall. She was carrying his late brother's baby, and every DeLuca instinct cried out for Max to protect her unborn child. But the cost of bringing Lilli under his roof was Max's carefully controlled emotions. Never had the billionaire experienced such searing passion and such a desire to cherish a woman.

Then Max detected a secret Lilli seemed determined to keep hidden. Would the truth bring him to his knees…or send him running for the door?

Favourite Scene: (he sounds like he's 12 saying "you think I'm hot" but the honesty is great)

He waved his hand. “We may as well get this on the table. I know you’re attracted to me,” he said without a millimeter of arrogance.
She opened her mouth to deny it, but her throat closed around the lie.
“I’m flattered that you think I’m hot,” he said. “But it’s probably a good idea that you also think I’m cold because, for some reason, I find you attractive.”
Lilli gaped at him, sure he was mocking her. “No.”
“Yes,” he said.
“But I’m pregnant,” she blurted out. “And not with your baby.”

Favourite Scene: (I love that he demands to be her child's guardian)

“Do you have a will?”
“Yes, I do,” she said.
“Have you chosen a guardian for you child?”
She resisted the urge to squirm. “I’m working on it.”
“Why don’t you name me the guardian?” he demanded

Favourite Scene: (I love that he doesn't pause)

“Do you have any questions you’d like to ask me?” he said, as if he sensed what was going on inside her.
She closed her eyes so she wouldn’t be affected by his presence, but she still sensed him, still smelled the faintest scent of his sexy cologne. “If you raised the baby, would you blow bubbles with him?”
He didn’t even pause. “Yes.”
“Will you read him books at night? You can let the nanny do it every now and then, but you need to do it most nights.”
“Yes,” he said.
“Will you tell him he’s wonderful?”
“Yes.”
“Will you hold him when he cries?”
“Yes. And I’ll hold you, too, Lilli, whether you’re crying or not.”
And Lilli felt her heart tumble a little farther away from good sense and sanity.

My Review:

Wow.  I loved this book.  The characters were such deep and lovely people at heart.  I loved how the hero fell for the heroine, even 6 or 7 months pregnant with another man's baby he was more attracted to her than anyone else in his life.  The hero was cold, but he always took care of the heroine, he was open and upfront with her, and when he decided she was what he wanted he dove in with both feet.  He is such an intense man.  I didn't even find it icky that she was knocked up with his brother's child, because the hero never found that awkward himself really.
I decided about 30 pages into this book that it was a keeper, and it would have been a keeper for me, but something unpleasant was revealed at the end of the book.  I would much rather that have NOT happened, I don't think it was necessary for the author to throw that last bit of conflict up between the hero/heroine.  And I think it's damn sad and shitty that the heroine has to live with what happened.

Rating: 4/5 stars, this was such an intense and lovely read!

oh about the cover...  the

oh about the cover...  the heroine has one of the most beautiful and etheral faces I've seen....  the heroine looks a little young (but that's ok).  The HERO looks about 22 to 24 though!  A little young for a billionaire.  Hot but too young.

I too loved this book. I think I didn't find it icky because her and the brother didn't have a long, loving relationship.

Yeah...  the heroine and the bro weren't icky, but the twist mentioned at the end was incredibly icky and very very sad.  :(
