A sure sign of a good book--when I finished Marked, I ran straight to B&N and bought Betrayed and Chosen!
And a sure sign of stellar writing--despite not liking some of the heroine's decisions and some of what I could see coming for the next book, I still could not put this one down. Betrayed continues the story of Zoey's trials and tribulations in the House of Night as she learns her Mark is not like any other and that she's been specially blessed by vampyre goddess Nyx. Being so powerful before she's mentally ready comes with dangers unlike any Zoey could prepare for--including those who want to both use her and hold her back. Learning who to trust as enemies become allies and cracks are made in friendships isn't even the hardest part--it is resisting the unexpected blood lust that erupts like the strongest teen hormones when Zoey's ex refuses to stay away and tempts her beyond anyone's control. (it gets racier than I'd expect in YA--delicious, and almost eww at times...the gut reactions I have to these stories are again a tribute to the writers).
Another riveting YA paranormal.
