blogging for the counter so I don't forget. This was my first ever graphic novel but since it was Stephen King and it was my all time favorite series of his, Dark Tower, I had to buy it when I saw it in the store last year around Christmas time. NFM

yeah. Manga is not really
yeah. Manga is not really my thing. the only reason I got this one is because it's from the dark tower series. and those are my favorite books he ever wrote. It's actuallya hardcound compilation of the 7 comic books in the Gunslinger Born story, which is actually taken from Book 4 in the series, Wizard and Glass but chronologically is the first in the story of Roland. It cuts out all of the parts with grown up Roland and his ka-tet and just focuses on the story Roland was telling them when they were at the Emerald Palace.
There's a second story started from the dark tower books in comics right now too i think but I'll wait till it comes out in the hard bound compilation like this one did before i buy it.

I didn't....
realize it was taken from the later books so I may hold off on reading my copy then. I have quite a few graphic novels....

you can read it first
you can read it first without a problem Debbie. As I said, it's chronologically first in teh time line of Roland's life so you don't need to read the otehrs first. in fact, it's probably BETTER to read this one first since there are so many references in every book in the series to incidents in this book.

Oh good...
and thanks for that tip!

no problem. the events
no problem. the events unfolding in this particular story are really what sets off the entire Dark Tower quest for Roland. What happened when he was a teenager with Susan Delgado affected his whole life hence all the references to this story in the other books, even the ones that were published before Wizard and Glass.
