Can you Keep a Secret?

OK, so this isn't a new book - to be honest it's sat on my TBR for long enough, because though I like some chicklit others just don't do anything for me - but when I started this I couldn't put it down. It's funny - lord, but I saw myself in some of Emma's 'lie's' Embarassed- but it's also incredibly moving. That moment when Emma says, 'What am I again, Jack? A nothing special girl' - I got a great big lump in my throat. Great book, and I'm definitely going to look out for more Sophie KInsella books.

I liked this one, too, and I also don't always get

chick lit. I certainly never saw the appeal of her "Shopaholic" books. Of course, I didn't give them a big chance -- I put the first one down without finishing it.

Thought this was hilarious

Thought this was hilarious at times. I read a few of her Shopaholic books but didn't care for them as much. I'm not a shopper unless it's for books. I did like her Undomestic Goddess though.

re shopaholic books

Debs, you're a woman after my own heart! My idea of hell is knowing I need a new pair of shoes, or a new bra, or a pair of trousers, which means I have to hit the shops and actually look for something.Money mouth  Book shops - yes. Antique shops to drool over what I can't afford - yes. But buying clothes and shoes.... I need a cattle prod or sheer desperation to get me into those shops!
